摘要： A ski having lower frictional resistance created by introduction of an air cushion. At least one chamber is formed in the running surface of the ski to hold air which is introduced through an air entrance on the ski. The sides of the chamber are formed to prevent lateral escape of the air. A channel in the form of a Venturi tube extends between the air entrance and the chamber.

摘要： An adjusting device for adjusting the position of weights mounted for longitudinal movement within a ski. A drum is rotatably supported within a housing on the ski and has flat belts wound thereon, one belt extending to a weight supported for movement between the binding area on the ski and the tail of the ski and the other belt extending to a weight mounted for movement between the tip of the ski and the binding area. A manually engageable setting member is provided for rotating the drum to control the amount of flat belt wound onto the drum. A hollow member is provided in the ski to simplify the manufacturing process. The hollow member has the flat belts and the weights mounted therein for movement with respect thereto along the longitudinal axis of the ski. Printed indicia can be provided on either the flat belts or on the ski to indicate the relative location of the weights with respect to the tip and the tail of the ski.

摘要： A ski instructional device includes a pair of skis; a pair of ski poles and an apparatus for engaging the lower end of each ski pole to the front portion of one of the skis at the point where the curve of the tip of the ski ends and the ski becomes flat. The ski poles individually engage the apparatus located at the point just described and permit the user to lean forward or back by holding onto the poles. The length of the ski poles is usually selected in accordance with the user''s height to thereby guide the person using the ski instructional device into the correct position for skiing. The ski instructional device also includes a block mounted on the rear portion of each ski to prevent the rear portion of the skis from crossing over one another and for facilitating a turning force developed by pushing one ski against the block of the other ski.
