The controller includes a pump; a manifold in fluid communication with the pump; a connector in fluid communication with the manifold and in removable fluid communication with the inflatable cuff; a pressure sensor; and a control circuit configured to implement a remote ischemic conditioning treatment protocol.
Abstract:
An implantable electroacupuncture device (IEAD) treats a specified medical condition of a patient through application of electroacupuncture (EA) stimulation pulses applied substantially at or near a specified acupoint, its underlying nerves, or other target tissue location. The IEAD includes an IEAD housing having an electrode configuration thereon that includes at least two electrodes, and pulse generation circuitry located within the IEAD housing and electrically coupled to the at least two electrodes. The pulse generation circuitry is adapted to deliver stimulation pulses to the patient's body tissue at or near the target tissue location in accordance with a specified stimulation regimen, the stimulation regimen requiring that the stimulation session have a duration of T3 minutes and a rate of occurrence of once every T4 minutes, and wherein a ratio of T3/T4 is no greater than 0.05.
Abstract:
The back kneading device mounted in the chair-type massage apparatus comprises: the massage mechanism including paired right-hand and left-hand massage members having the treatment element for massage and the driving section for transmitting massage action to the massage member; the base member for supporting the massage mechanism, with the massage member pointing forward; the vertical movement mechanism for moving the base member in the vertical direction in the backrest; and the protruding-amount varying mechanism for moving the massage member so that protrusion amount of the treatment element in the front-rear direction can be varied.
Abstract:
The Massage Chair System and Apparatus with Charging Kiosk includes elements for a massage chair comprised of massage system, a vending system, a charging system, and other advantageous components. The Massage Chair System and Apparatus with Charging Kiosk provide the ability to charge devices during the time a user enjoys a massage in the chair. The System and Apparatus with Kiosk has components including a timer; a power supply; and a kiosk that can attach to a chair or standalone. Once a person inserts money into the massage chair, the kiosk intercepts the amount inserted and turns on the power to the kiosk supplying power to USB ports and inductive charging pads, allowing a user to charge electronic devices.
Abstract:
An interface system for a tub system comprises a screen plate adapted to be mounted to a tub wall. The screen plate has keys representing functions of the tub system, and being made of a material allowing light to pass therethrough. Lights are positioned in register with the keys of the screen plate and concealed from a visible surface of the tub. A controller is adapted to receive commands from a user of the tub to actuate any selected function of the tub system. A light actuator actuates the lights to light up the keys associated with the selected function to visually indicate actuation of the selected function of the tub system through the keys.
Abstract:
The present application relates to a device for treating skin (1) comprising a housing (2), a shaft (14) located in the housing (2) having a longitudinal axis (‘A’) and an end for receiving a skin treating part (3). The device (1) further comprises a drive means configured to cause the shaft to rotate about its longitudinal axis, and to oscillate in a direction along the longitudinal axis, wherein the drive means comprise a rotational drive unit for rotating the shaft (14) and an oscillation generator (26) for oscillating the shaft. The oscillation generator (26) is located about the shaft (14) such that the shaft is rotatable relative to the oscillation generator. Furthermore, the oscillation generator (26) comprises a solenoid (39) and a flux assembly (25), and the flux assembly (25) is moveable along the shaft (14) relative to the solenoid (39).
Abstract:
Single- or dual-bladder devices for automated delivery of remote ischemic conditioning treatment via partial limb occlusion involve various methods of operating the cuff in which partial or full limb occlusion is achieved during the periods of cuff inflation. Achieving clinical benefits of remote ischemic conditioning without extended cessation of limb blood flow are advantageous due to lower required cuff pressure and reduced risk of clot formation in the limb vasculature.
Abstract:
A body massage apparatus is provided with a housing. A massage unit is provided in the housing. A pair of laterally spaced apart air bladders is provided on the housing with the massage unit oriented between the air bladders.
Abstract:
There is provided a method of controlling a wearable robot. The method includes measuring an electrical signal from a scalp of a wearer, estimating a current walking speed of the wearer using the measured electrical signal, and outputting assistive torque which allows the estimated current walking speed to approximate a target walking speed.
Abstract:
Provided are a method for strengthening blood vessels with extreme ease and a compression and decompression control system used for performing the method. A compression and decompression control system 1 includes a band adapted to be placed around a particular part of a limb of a user and to apply a compression force to the particular part and a controller for controlling the compression force applied to the particular part with the band. The controller controls the compression force applied with the band in a manner that a compression operation applying a predetermined compression force to the particular part and a decompression operation completely removing the compression force applied to the particular part by the compression operation are alternately repeated. Repetition of the compression operation and the decompression operation allows the vascular endothelial cells of blood vessels of the user to generate a larger amount of nitric oxide, thereby strengthening the blood vessels.
