Abstract:
A method of paging for a wireless device with multiple radio interfaces corresponding to multiple access networks. The method provides a first interface from the multiple radio interfaces to listen to paging for the multiple radio interfaces; turns the rest of the multiple radio interfaces into deep-sleep mode; and maintains attachment for each of the deep-sleep interfaces to a corresponding serving base station or access point.
Abstract:
A slide hinge is connected a cover to a base of a portable electronic device and has a stationary bracket, two pivot members, a sliding bracket and two torsion springs. The pivot members are mounted rotatably on the sliding bracket and are mounted to the base. The sliding bracket is mounted slidably on the stationary bracket and is mounted to the cover. The torsion springs are connected between the stationary bracket and the sliding bracket and each torsion spring multiple looped segments. The torsion springs with the looped segments provide an excellent resilient force to position the stationary bracket in one edge of the sliding bracket and therefore stably hold the cover in opened or closed positions without inadvertently sliding relative to the base.
Abstract:
An inserting device includes a main casing, a bracket, a first elastic component, an inserting assembly and a second elastic component. The main casing has a position-limiting portion and a first holding portion. The bracket is disposed in the main casing and has a second holding portion. The first elastic component is disposed between the main casing and the bracket, and the first holding portion holds the bracket. The inserting assembly is disposed in the main casing. The second elastic component is disposed between the inserting assembly and the bracket. The position-limiting portion limits the second holding portion, such that the second holding portion holds the inserting assembly on the bracket. When the bracket is released by the first holding portion, the bracket, the second elastic component and the inserting assembly move by the elastic force of the first elastic component, the second holding portion is departed from the position-limiting portion, and the inserting assembly is restored by an elastic force of the second elastic component. Moreover, a blood collection device including the inserting device is also provided.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and apparatus for refining image annotations. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, for each image in a set of images, a corresponding set of labels determined to be indicative of subject matter of the image. For each label, one or more confidence values are determined. Each confidence value is a measure of confidence that the label accurately describes the subject matter of a threshold number of respective images to which it corresponds. Labels for which each of the one or more confidence values meets a respective confidence threshold are identified as high confidence labels. For each image in the set of images, labels in its corresponding set of labels that are high confidence labels are identified. Images having a corresponding set of labels that include at least a respective threshold number of high confidence labels are identified as high confidence images.
Abstract:
Design and operation techniques for an earphone-based game controller and health monitor are described herein. In one example, two “ear bud” style earphones are configured as I/O devices, each including a speaker to output sound and an accelerometer to receive an input of motion imparted by a user. The I/O devices may be connected to a mobile device, such as a cellular phone. Accordingly, the I/O devices may be inserted into a user's ears for listening or may be used as game controllers, such as by moving one I/O device in each hand. In a further example, a thermometer may be used in at least one of the I/O devices, and may gather health data by measuring the temperature of the user. And in a further example, a microphone may be used in at least one I/O device to gather heart rate and respiration-quality data regarding the user.
Abstract:
A pocket-size authentication token for authenticating an individual to a network and enabling a wireless network connection for a non-network-enabled device. Authentication token acts as a security token or dongle, supplying credentials of one individual to the network in order to gain access to the network. Authentication token provides the electrical interface and all logic required to communicate with the network, utilizing a wireless network access device. Authentication token provides the electrical interface and all logic required to communicate with the non-network-enabled device. Authentication token transfers data from the non-network-enabled device to the individual's online account.
Abstract:
A razor blade including a substrate with a coating joined to the substrate defining a coated blade. The coated blade including a cutting edge being defined by a blade tip having a tip radius of from 50 to 350 angstroms. The coated blade having a pair of first facets extending from the blade tip and a pair of second facets extending from the respective first facets, a facet angle from 90° to 135°, a facet width from 0.38 micrometers to 0.65 micrometers a wedge angle from 5° to 30°, and a thickness of between 0.8 and 1.5 micrometers measured at a distance of 1 micrometer from the blade tip.
Abstract:
A sliding apparatus includes a first sliding member and a second sliding member slidable relative to the first sliding member. A first resilient member and a second resilient member are connected in between the first and second sliding members. The first and second resilient members overlap with each other to provide the better sense of damping for operators.
