Abstract: Frequency-dependent changes in beam shapes of transmitted RF signals can be provided to a receiving device. Beam shape information can include, for example, gain of a beam and a plurality of azimuth and elevation directions, boresight and width of a main lobe (and optionally side lobes) of the beam, information regarding a pattern of antenna elements of an antenna panel used to transmit the beam, and/or similar information. The type of information provided can dictate the amount of overhead required, and we therefore vary depending on the means by which the information is conveyed. Additional detail is provided in the embodiments described herein.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support processing high bandwidth position references signals (PRSs) at a reduced capability (RedCap) User equipment (UE). The UE reports a frequency hopping capability and a measurement gap. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes a method of wireless communication performed at a User Equipment. The UE transmits an indication of a capability of the UE to perform receive frequency hopping to measure a downlink positioning reference signal (DL-PRS), where the indication of the capability includes at least one of a maximum supported PRS bandwidth (BW) with frequency hopping, a possible number of frequency hops, maximum BW per hop, and minimum hop overlap. Optionally, the UE also transmits a report of a total PRS BW measured by the UE and/or an indication that a measurement with frequency hopping was performed. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for channel sounding for wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to scheduling sounding reference signal (SRS) resource sets for wireless devices having more than 4 receive (RX) antenna ports. In some implementations, a base station may determine an antenna switching capability of a user equipment (UE). The antenna switching capability indicates a number of RX antenna ports of the UE. The base station schedules a number of SRS resource sets for the UE based at least in part on the number of RX antenna ports in excess of four. For example, the number of RX antenna ports may be equal to 8. As another example, the number of RX antenna ports may be equal to 6. The base station further receives, from the UE, uplink transmissions of one or more SRS resources for each of the scheduled SRS resource sets.

Abstract: During positioning of a user equipment (UE), (DL) positioning reference signals (PRS) transmitted by one or more transmission reception point (TRP) in a wireless communication system may be preempted or punctured by higher priority transmissions, such as ultra-reliable low-latency traffic (URLLC). A PRS preemption indication (PI) may be provided to a UE identifying one or more TRPs affected by preemption. The PRS PI may further identify the time domain and frequency domain of the preempted DL PRS transmissions. The PRS PI may identify the time domain, e.g., based on a number of PRS symbols between two monitoring occasions, wherein only PRS symbols that contain positioning reference signals associated with the group of TRPs are counted. The PRS PI may identify the frequency domain by identifying at least one of four or more frequency sub-bands of the preempted DL PRS transmissions.

Abstract: A communication device includes a processor configured to: transfer, via a transceiver, a wireless data signal within a communication frequency range; determine a capability of the communication device to measure a wireless radar signal received via the transceiver, the wireless radar signal having a frequency within the communication frequency range; transmit, via the transceiver to a network entity, a first indication of the capability of the communication device to measure the wireless radar signal, the first indication being indicative of a transmit power level of the wireless radar signal from a source of the wireless radar signal or a received power level of the wireless radar signal at the communication device; receive, via the transceiver, the wireless radar signal; determine a positioning measurement of the wireless radar signal; and transmit a second indication of the positioning measurement via the transceiver to the network entity.
