    摘要： A device for threading a paper web from a dryer section to a finishing device situated after the dryer section in the running direction of the web including a rope threading arrangement. A leader strip is separated from the edge of the paper web in the dryer section and the leader strip is directed between a pair of ropes included in the rope threading arrangement. The leader strip is carried to the finishing device on support of the ropes. To effect the transfer of the leader strip from the drying wire to the rope, at the inlet side of the last drying cylinder in the dryer section, a rope gap is formed out of the ropes and the leader strip, which is supported by the drying wire thereat, is transferred by an air blowing into the rope gap. The leader strip is passed by the ropes over the last drying cylinder to the finishing device.

    摘要： The invention is an apparatus and method for unwinding the butt portion of a reel of paper from the reel spool and delivering it to a repulper. It consists of a floor mounted stand with appropriate cradling surfaces to hold the spool butt. An air jet manifold is located at floor level below the stand. Air jets from the manifold direct the sheet toward the repulper. As the sheet enters the repulper it is met by water showers that direct it into the opening of the repulper. Once the sheet is engaged by the air jets and water showers it is continuously unrolled by the force delivered by these devices acting against the sheet. An accelerating mechanism may be provided to begin unrolling the paper from the spool and a brake mechanism is useful for stopping rotation of the spool after all of the paper has been removed.

    摘要： A dry end tail cutter for a papermaking machine comprises a slotted housing for accommodating the traverse of a cutter in a cross machine direction relative to the machine. A drive motor mounted on the housing drives a slot closing band around a pair of opposed pulley wheels. The slot closing bank is entrained around the pulley wheels and has its opposite free ends interengaged with a motor mount disposed within and slidable relative to the housing. A knife motor is carried by the motor mount and moves therewith. A rotary knife is driven by the knife motor. The band functions to close the slot forwardly and rearwardly of the knife as the motor mount and knife are traversed in the cross machine direction relative to the papermaking machine.

    摘要： A method for the separation of the paper web from the forming fabric in a paper-making machine comprising dividing the web into lengthwise strips to lessen the web adherence to the wire by utilization of a spray means incorporating a plurality of nozzles and then effecting web knock-down and separation from the wire by use of a slotted spray through which pressurized air jets are directed.Through this method very low pressures are required to achieve web separation and the risks of re-contact between web and wire are positively prevented.
