The system further includes a control module that receives control instructions from the control mechanism and selectively controls at least one component of a plurality of components of the vehicle based on the mode select signal, at least one of the plurality of sensed characteristics, and the control instructions.

    摘要: An elongated container of a truck has a closed front end wall and a hinged rear outlet closure, and a side infeed opening for receiving garbage. This empty container is configured to receive an elongated base upon which is mounted a reciprocating conveyor floor for moving garbage in the container outward through the opened rear closure for deposit at a garbage disposal site. The power drive mechanism for driving the reciprocating floor is located at the front end of the container and is shielded from input garbage by a deflector secured to the reciprocating floor. The deflector also serves as a pusher for compacting and moving garbage in the container out through the opened rear closure. The self-contained reciprocating floor is easily carried manually and fed through the opened rear closure and secured firmly in the truck container.

    摘要: Trailers are described that include a chassis, a set of wheels for rollably supporting the chassis on the ground, and a rigid container carried by the chassis. The rigid container comprises a floor, a sidewall, an access door for loading/unloading materials into the container, and a convertible rigid roof. The convertible roof is movable between a closed position which permits waste or other materials to be compressed into the trailer, and an open position which permits the trailer to be loaded with bulk goods from the top. The convertible roof includes movable rigid panels, and a locking bar for holding the panels closed and connecting the opposite sidewalls of the trailer to each other against the expansion pressure exerted by loosely compressed materials transported in the trailer. The panels may be rotating panels hinged to a wall, or may be provided as sliding panels running in tracks.

    摘要: A container packer system includes a transfer base, which receives a container packer adapted for movement longitudinally between retracted and extended positions with respect to the transfer base. The transfer base includes a power subsystem with a motor or engine driving an hydraulic pump for powering hydraulic piston-and-cylinder units of the system, including a container packer piston-and-cylinder unit for hydraulically extending and retracting the container packer. The container packer generally encloses an interior adapted for receiving bulk material for transfer to a transport container, which can comprise a standard shipping container, a trailer or some other bulk material receptacle. The container packer includes a push blade assembly longitudinally movably mounted in its interior and actuated by a push blade piston-and-cylinder unit. A container packer method includes the steps of loading the interior of the container packer with bulk material in its retracted position on the transfer base, locating a transport container in alignment and behind the transfer base, hydraulically inserting part of the container packer into the transport container, hydraulically emptying the container packer of bulk material into the transport container with the push blade assembly, retracting the push blade assembly within the container packer and extracting the container packer onto the transfer base.

    摘要: A refuse-collecting utility vehicle with a refuse-charging system located behind the driver's cabin has an adjoining refuse-compacting device and a refuse-collecting bin arranged behind the compacting device. A dual compaction system makes it possible to accomplish uniform compaction of the refuse charged within the refuse-collecting bin, so that the capacity of the refuse-collecting bin is exploited to its fullest capacity. Specifically, a counterpressure plate is arranged within the zone of action of the refuse-compacting device on the top of the refuse-collecting bin. This counterpressure plate is supported for upward and downward pivotal movement and is capable of being acted upon by a pressure force and forms a counterpressure element for the refuse charged. This permits unniform compaction of the refuse filled in the refuse-collecting bin from the start of refuse-charging up until the complete filling of the bin Thus, this system results in an increased utilization of or an increased payload for the refuse-collecting vehicle.

    摘要: A device for loading refuse into, and compacting it inside a container carried by a refuse collecting vehicle, includes a link and a shovel extending throughout the width of the container and hinged together by a hinge. The link also has its other end hinged to a fixed structure of the vehicle in such a manner that the link is adapted only to swing about the axis of that hinge. Hydraulic jacks are provided for driving the link and shovel into motion. The hydraulic jacks operate such as to cause the free end of the shovel to describe, during the effective loading steps, a curved path that thoroughly follows the curvilinear shape of a bottom of a refuse receiving trough.

    摘要: Apparatus and method for collection, compaction, and ejection of refuse wherein refuse initially dumped into a forward hopper compartment is conducted through an opening in a compaction plate into a storage compartment. A shredding device such as an auger-type impeller is formed as part of the compaction blade assembly and is moveable therewith between a forward position in the hopper compartment and a rearward, compaction position in the storage compartment. The combined impeller and compaction blade assembly permits initial shredding and compaction of refuse during transmission to the storage compartment, with periodic compaction of the storage compartment contents by displacement of the compaction blade assembly rearward. Ejection of refuse from the storage compartment is also accomplished by rearward displacement of the impeller and compaction blade assembly, thereby forcing the contained refuse through a rearward ejection door.
