Abstract:
A system for supporting individuals or objects is disclosed that can be used, e.g., as a bunk for sleeping upon within a vehicle, such as, e.g., a truck or commercial vehicle. The system preferably includes a support platform, a pivot mechanism, and at least one flowable-medium spring. The support platform is provided with an upper surface to support at least one individual or object within a vehicle. The pivot mechanism is connected to the support platform so as to pivot the support platform around a pivot axis to move between a stored position and a deployed position in which the support platform supports the at least one individual or object. The at least one flowable-medium spring is provided with a first end fixed relative to the vehicle and a second end fixed relative to the support platform at a location displaced from the pivot axis. Each of the at least one flowable-medium springs is arranged so as to impart an extension force that biases the support platform toward the deployed position and so as to impart an extension force that biases the support platform toward the stored position during at least portions of the movement of the support platform between the stored position and the deployed position.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a passenger seat, especially an airline passenger seat, comprising seat components such as a seat part, a backrest, and an armrest (3), at least one of which is movably disposed relative to the other seat components to adjust the position, and a partition (9, 11) that can be transferred between an operational position in which the same extends in a lateral shielding area of the seat and a non-operational position in which the same unblocks the shielding area. The partition is composed of several wall parts (9, 11) which extend in the shielding area in the operational position and interact via a guiding device (43, 45) such that the movement of one wall part (9) during the transfer between the non-operational and the operational position entrains another wall part (11).
Abstract:
There is provided the seat device for a vehicle, which is disposed on the rear floor panel in the cabin equipped with the ingress and egress opening at the side, comprising the first seat being provided so as to be folded, the second seat being provided beside the first seat, and the second-seat moving mechanism (the seat slide rails) to move the second seat laterally to the space of the original existing location of the first seat before the first seat has been folded. Accordingly, there can be provided a storage space beside the seat to allow an easy loading (easy access) from the outside of the vehicle, thereby improving facilities of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A seat (1) for a vehicle such as an aircraft, comprises a back rest structure (3) and a squab structure (2) mounted so as to pivot with respect to the back rest structure (3), a structure (5) supporting the squab structure (2) and the back rest structure (3), the back rest structure (3) being connected to the support structure (5) by a pivot connection (10), and a leg rest (4) connected by a pivot connection (6) to the front end of the squab structure (2), characterised in that it comprises mechanical synchronisation mechanism (15) able to synchronise the movements of the back rest structure (3) and of the leg rest (4). The mechanical synchronisation mechanism (15) is connected: to the back rest structure (3) by a pivot connection (23) situated at a distance from the pivot connection (10) between the back rest structure (3) and the support structure (5), between the pivot connection (10) and the bottom end (12) of the back rest structure, to the leg rest (4) by a pivot connection (24) situated close to the pivot connection (6) between the leg rest and the squab structure, at a certain distance from the latter, and to the squab structure (2) by a pivot connection (A) situated close to the pivot connection (6) between the leg rest and the squab structure, at a certain distance from the latter.
Abstract:
A headrest support assembly for a seat apparatus capable of positioning the headrest in a variety of positions, including a position that provides headrest support to raise the head while the seat is in a reclined position.
Abstract:
A vehicle seat for a vehicle. The seat moveable into a stadium position in which a seat cushion assembly and a seat back assembly are substantially upright. The seat can also include incline and recline features which allow the seat back to fold forward to kneel on the seat cushion and to recline backward to a flat position. The stadium positioning provides, amongst other benefits, easier access to an area behind the seat.
Abstract:
A chair and bed combination in the cab of a vehicle, which chair comprises a seat part and a backrest which are pivotably connected to each other about a first substantially horizontal axis between the lowered sleeping position and a position in which it is folded up against a wall, and a first frame which is arranged in the vehicle cab and on which the chair rests. When the chair is in the folded-down position, the first frame and the chair are arranged under the bed when the bed is lowered into a substantially horizontal sleeping position.
Abstract:
A seat device of a vehicle including a substantially flat floor surface substantially extending across a full cabin space of the vehicle, front row seats, center row seats and a rear row seat disposed in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle on the floor surface, a seat storage pan extending rearward the rear row seat and downward a level of the floor surface, the front row seats being disposed with a space, the center row seats including a plurality of seats in which at least one of the seats is movable in a lateral direction of the vehicle. When the rear row seat is received in the seat storage pan, a substantially flat and continuous surface of a substantially same level as the floor surface is formed rearward the center row seats to a rear end of the cabin space with a substantially full width of the cabin space. When the center row seats are disposed offset to one side of the vehicle with regard to the lateral direction, a substantially flat and continuous surface of a substantially same level as the floor surface is formed rearward the front row seats to a rear end of the cabin space. When the center row seats are disposed to produce a space at a central portion of the vehicle in the lateral direction, a substantially flat and continuous surface of a substantially same level as the floor surface is formed rearward the front row seats to a rear end of the cabin space at a central portion of the cabin space in the lateral direction.
Abstract:
A folding bench seat is provided, particularly for vehicles. It consists of a bench seat frame with a restraint system and comprises a base frame secured to the floor and a top structure. The top structure has an upright column unit, a back unit and a seat unit, and the column unit is supported via a horizontal pivot on the base frame and can be folded down from the upright position to a flat position.
Abstract:
A system including a chair assembly and an ottoman assembly used to seat or otherwise support an individual wherein the subject system is particularly adapted for use on either commercial or multi-passenger private aircraft and is specifically structured to enhance the overall comfort and privacy of a passenger when utilizing the system as well as maximize the use of passenger space by providing access to certain amenities thereby defining an effective and comfortable environment for the passenger. Portions of the ottoman and chair assemblies are specifically structured for positioning toward and away from one another into a completely reclined or horizontal support position so as to allow the passenger or occupant to assume such a position, as when resting or sleeping. A privacy shroud structure is also included with the subject assemblies and is selectively positionable so as to greatly enhance the privacy of an occupant of the system and restrict any disturbing light from entering the subject privacy shroud.
