Abstract: A method includes obtaining, by a processing device from an optical sensor of a mobile device, an image of an object; processing, by the processing device, the image using a neural network, wherein processing the image includes distinguishing, using the neural network, a first portion of the image including a region of interest, ROI, from a second portion of the image, wherein processing the image comprises processing the image by an encoder to obtain an encoded image and processing the encoded image by a decoder to obtain a decoded output image; after processing the image, extracting, by the processing device, a biometric characteristic of the object from the ROI; extracting, by the processing device, a biometric characteristic of the object from the ROI; and processing, by the processing device, the biometric characteristic of the object to determine whether the biometric characteristic of the object identifies a user.

Abstract: A display panel, a manufacturing method thereof, and a display device are provided. The display panel includes a driving backplate, functional component groups, and micro-LED chips. The functional component groups are integrated in regions where the micro-LED chips are not disposed and are multiplexed as alignment marks. In a mass transfer process of the micro-LED chips, the alignment marks are prevented from additionally occupying pixel space by using part of functional components multiplexed as the alignment marks under a precondition of ensuring alignment accuracy.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to user authentication. A computing platform may receive a plurality of facial scans of an individual. The computing platform may train, using the plurality of facial scans, a convolutional neural network (CNN) to identify the individual, based on a first facial scan of the individual, using subclasses of the CNN. The computing platform may receive an authorization request including the first facial scan of the individual. The computing platform may input the first facial scan into the CNN, which may cause the CNN to identify the individual. Based on successful identification of the individual, the computing platform may grant requested access to the individual. The computing platform may update, using the first facial scan, the CNN.

Abstract: The embodiments of the present disclosure provide a fingerprint detection method and a fingerprint module. The fingerprint detection method includes: dividing a detection area of the fingerprint module into a plurality of detection blocks, wherein each of the detection blocks comprises a plurality of detection units, and each of the detection units is corresponding to a grayscale value; scanning at least part of the detection blocks to obtain the grayscale values; determining whether each of the detection blocks is in a covered state based on the grayscale values; and counting the number of the detection blocks in the covered state, and sending a collection request to a host to inform the host to obtain a fingerprint image if the number thereof is not less than a coverage block threshold. The method avoids meaningless detection caused by a false touch, and ensures integrity of the fingerprint image collected later.
