    摘要: A system and method for cargo handling is provided. The system includes a transport vehicle including a cargo bay capable of housing a plurality of cargo containers, and a loading dock for coupling to the cargo bay. The system also includes at least one railcar and pylons positioned along a floor of the cargo bay. A predetermined number of pylons are operable to elevate and lower a cargo container within the cargo bay. The present invention also provides a railcar for transporting cargo containers, as well as an apparatus for positioning at least one cargo container within a transport vehicle. The present invention also provides a system for aligning a loading dock and a transport vehicle that includes a mechanism for adjusting the height of the transport vehicle or loading dock, or a plurality of engagement members that are capable of aligning the loading dock and transport vehicle.

    摘要: A compound truck leveler for use upon a driveway abutting a loading dock is provided that includes an incline portion having a trailing edge disposed further from the driveway than its leading edges, and a decline portion having a leading edge rigidly attached to the trailing edge of the incline portion and disposed further from the driveway than its trailing edge. The leveler is pivotally attached to a pivot apparatus rigidly attached to the driveway adjacent to the front of the leveler wherein the leveler is limited only to rotational movement about the pivot apparatus between lowered and raised positions. Preferably, the leveler also includes an extension portion extending towards the loading dock and rigidly attached to the decline portion wherein the extension is substantially parallel with the driveway in the lowered position. The pivot point of the leveler is preferably disposed further from the driveway than the rear of the leveler.

    摘要: A loading dock having a truck leveler for allowing the truck to be positioned at different heights. The loading dock includes a dock surface, a driveway extending from the dock surface and positioned at a level below the dock surface, and a ramp movably interconnected with the driveway. The driveway defines a tire path along which a truck tire will travel when a truck is backed toward the dock surface. The ramp is movable from an active position aligned with the tire path to an inactive position out of the tire path. The ramp can be pivotally interconnected with the driveway. Alternatively, the ramp can be linearly slidably interconnected with the driveway. In either embodiment, a power actuator (e.g., a hydraulic cylinder) can be operatively connected with the ramp and positioned to pivot the ramp between the active and inactive positions.

    摘要: The leveler is positioned upon the flat top surface of the truck apron at some predetermined position in front of the dock. In the down position the surface cover plate of the leveler is parallel with the flat top surface of the truck apron. The lifting is provided by hydraulic cylinders secured to the leveler inwardly from the rear whereby avoiding interference with ancillary dock equipment. Thus, an aperture can be provided in the rear to accommodate a truck restraining device.
