摘要： A device for rapidly wrapping a bundle of newspapers or magazines to be recycled, consisting of a fiberboard plate having a hole with a string-receiving slit through its major surfaces, and arcuate recesses on opposite edges of the plate, each recess having a string-receiving slit. A string is looped through the hole and around an adjacent edge of the plate, and tied near one end of the string. To wrap the bundle, the other end of the string is passed around the bundle and through the hole, wedged into the corresponding slit, and then passed by each arcuate recess and wedged into each of the corresponding slits.

The elements have been provided with openings for the ends of the laces and a point of union with an outlet for the remaining parts of the laces. The moveable pieces are biased to an open clamping position. In a preferred embodiment, the movable pieces are articulated obliquely so that they present a lower concave surface to fit over the curve of the shoe upper.

摘要： An improved cable or bundle tie arrangement includes a plastic tie strap and a tie head. The tie head includes a housing having a pair of spaced apart slots extending therein forming a pair of strap-receiving passageways. Each passageway has an entrance opening and at least one of the passageways has an exit opening. A pawl-receiving channel extends through the housing intermediate the passageways having at least one channel opening disposed substantially normal to the entrance openings. An intermediate portion of the channel intersects each of the passageways. A pawl member is mounted in the channel through the channel opening. The pawl includes a base portion and a pair of arms extending from opposed sides of the base. Each pawl arm has a free end with a blade section. The free ends of the pawl arms extend from the channel into the adjacent strap passageways for making biting and wedging engagement with an inserted tie strap to lockingly maintain the strap under tension around the article or bundle being tied.

摘要： A strap device convertible from a waist belt to a ski-carrier and vice versa, comprises a single strap which is continuous in its length from one end to the other. A buckle member of mating buckle means, such as a hook and eye buckle, is attached to one end of the strap, and two length adjustment slides are attached to the strap for sliding positional adjustment along the length thereof. The other end of the strap is attached to the length adjustment slide nearest that end thereby forming a first loop of adjustable size. A second buckle member of the mating buckle means is positioned with the other length adjustment slide for movement therewith and is adapted to releasably engage the buckle member on the first-mentioned end of the strap to form a second loop of adjustable size. A third buckle member is slidably attached to the portion of the strap that forms the first loop, for free sliding movement therealong within the confines of such loop. In using the strap to carry a pair of skis, the second loop is formed and fastened around the pair of skis so as to hold the skis together in parallel relationship as a unitary bundle and to present the first loop as a handle for lifting and carrying the ski bundle. The first loop is normally placed over a shoulder of the skier, so that the pair of skis is carried in a convenient position at the skier''s side, either horizontally or vertically. The strap device is reconvertible to a waist belt by unbuckling the second loop, adjusting the size of the first loop, and attaching the first-mentioned buckle member to the third buckle member.

摘要： A bundling tie for use in looping about a plurality or bundle of elements, such as wires, tubes or cables, and to be drawn taunt about the bundle for mounting of the elements in bundle form on a support, such as for instance on a circuit board or harness board assembly, and comprising a buckle head having an aperture therethrough and a separate insert pawl mounted in the aperture of the head in generally floatable condition, adapted for locking coaction with a strap portion that is disposed in looped condition and passes into said aperture in the head. Such an arrangement not only facilitates the insertion of the strap into the aperture in the head but also ensures that the locking coaction between the pawl and the strap is such that pullout of the strap from the head is prevented. In one embodiment, the floating pawl is eliminated and a wedgeinsert is provided severably attached to the head of the tie and adapted to be forced into wedging coaction in the head with the strap portion, to hold the latter in looped condition.

摘要： A releasable self-locking bundling strap which is locked by the rotation of a head member in a first direction and released by the rotation of the head member in a second, opposite direction. The strap body portion is fabricated with oppositely oriented teeth on opposite planar surfaces of the body and of a width and thickness to permit both ends of the body portion to be placed through the aperture in the head member. Complementarily oriented teeth are placed on the top and bottom bounding surfaces of the head member aperture. In the released position the head member teeth do not engage the body portion teeth permitting free movement of the body portion. Rotation of the head member causes locking engagement between the head member teeth ahd body portion teeth. Various tooth combinations, head configurations, and ancillary structures are also described.
