Abstract: The proposed technology relates to path selection in wireless mesh networks. In particular the disclosure relates to methods for selection of one or more transmission paths from an originating node to a target node in a wireless mesh network, wherein there are at least two possible transmission paths between the originating node and the target node. More specifically, the disclosure proposes a method, performed in an originating node in a wireless network comprising several nodes wirelessly connected to each other, for enabling selection of a transmission path from the originating node to a target node, wherein there are at least two possible transmission paths between the originating node and the target node. The method comprises the steps of receiving SI discovery signals from nodes in the at least two possible transmission paths and estimating S2, based on the received discovery signals, radio channels H for transmission from the originating node to the nodes transmitting the discovery signals. The method further comprises calculating S3, for different transmission modes, based on the estimated radio channels, metrics of links from the originating node to the nodes transmitting the discovery signals, wherein at least one of the transmission modes involves simultaneous transmission from the originating node to at least two of the nodes transmitting the discovery signals and transmitting S4 the calculated metrics to an adjacent node. The disclosure also relates to the corresponding apparatuses and computer programs.

The method (20) comprises calculating (21) a phase noise value between one or more layers received in each element (181, . . . , 18i, . . . , 18N) from a first transmitter node (2a) and one or more layers received in each element (181, . . . , 18i, . . . , 18N) from a second transmitter node (2b), and determining (22) a scheduling allocation for the at least two transmitter nodes (2a, 2b), taking the calculated phase noise value into account. A network node (3), computer program and computer program product are also provided.

Abstract: A beamforming selection method of a first wireless communication node is disclosed. The method includes receiving first reference signaling, transmitted from a second wireless communication node using a first beamforming setting, generating a first channel estimate based on the first reference signaling, and transmitting, using a second beamforming setting, second reference signaling for reception by the second wireless communication node, wherein each coefficient of the second beamforming setting represents a complex conjugate of a corresponding component of the first channel estimate.
In some embodiments, the method further includes iterating the receiving, generating, and transmitting steps until a stopping criterion is met.
For example, the stopping criterion may include that a number of iterations performed equals a maximum number of iterations, and/or that a beamforming convergence criterion is met. Corresponding apparatus, wireless communication node and computer program product are also disclosed.

Abstract: Embodiments include methods, performed by a network node in a wireless network, for signaling resynchronization signal (RSS) configurations of neighbor cells to one or more user equipment (UEs). Such methods include encoding a plurality of parameters of respective RSS configurations of one or more neighbor cells. For each particular neighbor cell, the parameters can include one or more RSS frequency locations and an RSS time offset for the particular neighbor cell, and the encoding can be based on a bitmap and a parameter associated with the particular neighbor cell (e.g., a physical cell ID). Such methods also include transmitting, to the one or more UEs, at least a portion of the encoded parameters of the respective RSS configurations of the neighbor cells. Embodiments also include complementary methods performed by UEs, as well as network nodes and UEs configured to perform such methods.

Abstract: A method and a network node (300) for enabling wireless communication with a wireless device (302), wherein no more than a pre-determined maximum total transmit power is available for downlink transmission by the network node (300). When detecting that the wireless device (302) requires an extended transmission range (300B) which is larger than a nominal transmission range (300A), a boosted transmit power is determined and used for transmitting a first set of channels and/or signals to be used by the wireless device (302) to achieve the extended transmission range (300B). An attenuated transmit power is also determined and used for transmitting a second set of channels and/or signals not included in the first set of channels and/or signals, which provides a slightly reduced transmission range (300C) for the second set. The boosted transmit power is thus higher than a nominal transmit power, and the attenuated transmit power is lower than the nominal transmit power, so that the total transmit power used for transmitting said first and second sets does not exceed the pre-determined maximum total transmit power.
