摘要： A water based ink set for ink-jet recording includes a yellow ink, a magenta ink, a cyan ink, a black ink, and a red ink and/or a blue ink each including at least a coloring agent, water and a water soluble organic solvent. In the water based ink set, a water soluble dye is employed as the coloring agent of each of the yellow ink, the magenta ink and the cyan ink, and a pigment is employed as the coloring agent of each of the black ink and the red ink and/or the blue ink. In an ink-jet recording method employing the water based ink set for ink-jet recording, the red ink and the magenta ink are employed together for a magenta-ink-recording portion, and the blue ink and the cyan ink are employed together for a cyan-ink-recording portion.

摘要： A water base ink set for ink-jet recording includes a water base ink which contains an acid dye, and a water base ink which contains a basic dye. The water base ink contains a polymer which has an average molecular weight of 3,000 to 20,000 and which is represented by the following formula (1): wherein X represents H or COONa, and Y represents H, COONa, SO3Na, or CH2OR in the formula (1). R represents a substituted group having SO3Na with carbon atom or atoms of a number of 1 to 5. When the ink containing the acid dye and the ink containing the basic dye are mixed with each other, then the head discharge section is prevented from any clog-up, and it is possible to perform the stable jetting operation.

摘要： The ink-jet recording apparatus has an ink passage into which a water based ink or a preservation solution is filled. The ink passage is formed from a rubber employing organic peroxide and zinc oxide as a vulcanization agent. The ink has a dynamic surface tension at a lifetime of 100 ms of about 35 mN/m to about 45 mN/m as measured by means of a maximum bubble pressure method at a measurement temperature of 25° C. The preservation solution has a dynamic surface tension at a lifetime of 100 ms of about 30 mN/m to about 35 mN/m as measured by means of a maximum bubble pressure method at a measurement temperature of 25° C.

When the water base ink is used in an ink-jet recording apparatus, the discharge stability of the ink is improved.

摘要： A printer includes a first head in which first nozzles are formed, a second head in which second nozzles located at a higher position than the first nozzle are formed, and an ink cartridge positioned at a lower position than the first and second nozzles. Moreover, the first head is connected to the ink cartridge via a tube, and the second head is connected to the first head via a tube. Accordingly, the second head is connected to the ink cartridge via the first head. It is possible to shorten the tubes by connecting serially the ink cartridge and the two heads, and to prevent from breaking simultaneously a meniscus in the nozzles of both the heads located at different height positions.
