Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) may perform an inter radio access technology (IRAT) measurement in time slots not deemed to be carrying critical data. In such instances, the UE only transmits and decodes critical data in the critical time slots when a serving cell signal is low for a determined period of time. Otherwise, when the time slots do not carry critical data, i.e., non-critical time slots, the UE stops transmitting and decoding and uses the non-critical time slots for IRAT measurement.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) may skip performance of base station identity code (BSIC) confirm and reconfirm procedure for a neighbor cell to conserve UE battery power. In such instances, the UE compares a serving cell signal metric to a dynamic threshold. The BSIC confirm and reconfirm procedure for the neighbor cell may be skipped when the serving cell signal metric is above the dynamic threshold.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) may reduce reselection delays when the UE is in the idle mode. In such instances, the UE adaptively adjusts a cell reselection timer based at least in part on the availability of a downlink time slot resource. The adjustment of the cell reselection timer may be based at least in part on the availability of the downlink time slot resources. The cell reselection timer is adjusted (e.g., shortened or scaled down) when the downlink time slot resources are unavailable to the UE.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for adding and releasing secondary cells in a multi-cell connectivity configuration. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) may transmit UE assistance information to a base station (BS) operating as a master cell in a multi-cell connectivity configuration. The UE assistance information may indicate a process that the BS is to use to add a secondary cell to the multi-cell connectivity configuration, may indicate a time gap for adding a secondary cell after another secondary cell is released from the multi-cell connectivity configuration, as well as other multi-cell connectivity configuration information. The BS may receive the UE assistance information and may add a secondary cell to the multi-cell connectivity configuration based at least in part on the indicated process and time gap.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for interference mitigation techniques between wireless communications and aircraft radio altimeters. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support one or more signaling- or configuration-based interference avoidance mechanisms associated with usage of a C-band at one or both of the UE and the network entity. The UE may support a capability according to which the UE is able to monitor a frequency band used by aircraft radio altimeters and the UE may request a modification to a C-band connection (such as request a release of the C-band connection) if the UE detects or measures signaling from an aircraft radio altimeter. Similarly, the network entity may modify the C-band connection if the network entity receives the request from the UE or itself detects or measures signaling from an aircraft radio altimeter.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method includes transmitting, to a base station based on a parameter of a configuration of the UE, a first HARQ feedback configuration or a request to modify the configuration of the UE, or both, the configuration of the UE including a carrier aggregation configuration and receiving, from the base station based on transmitting the first HARQ feedback configuration or request to modify the configuration of the UE, or both, a second HARQ feedback configuration or reconfiguration.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus relating to minimizing interference by controlling beam width of a wireless device. In certain aspects, a method of minimizing interference by controlling beam width of a wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE), includes configuring antenna elements of the UE to communicate in a serving cell using a first beam, monitoring a channel quality metric in the serving cell, and re-configuring the antenna elements of the UE to perform mobility measurements of one or more neighboring cells using a second beam broader than the first beam if the metric falls below a threshold value.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) is configured to adaptively switch between different techniques/methods for performing inter-frequency or inter-radio access technology measurement. The UE may use one technique for measurement based on certain communication conditions and in response to a change in communication conditions may switch to another measurement technique. Different techniques may be used such as using a network configured communication gap, using a connected discontinuous reception cycle off-period for measurement, or other techniques.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) speeds up circuit switched fallback call establishment and reduces circuit switched fallback call establishment failure. In one instance, the UE receives a redirection command including a list of current neighbor cells/frequencies. The UE determines whether a current serving cell matches a previous serving cell stored in the UE. The UE also evaluates the list of current neighbor cells to determine whether each current neighbor cell matches a previous neighbor cell associated with the previous serving cell. The UE then determines neighbor cells for power scan and/or synchronization channel decoding procedures to select one of the current neighbor cells to redirect the UE based on the previously recorded type of redirection result.
Abstract:
A method of wireless communication includes receiving an uplink grant for one or more pending HARQ processes waiting to perform a retransmission. The method also includes selecting each pending HARQ process that has not received a NACK. The method further includes terminating an oldest selected HARQ process when the uplink grant is insufficient to perform the retransmission for the plurality of pending HARQ processes.
