As a charge generating material, a perylene pigment, anthanthrone pigment, X-type metal-free phthalocyanine pigment, imidazoleperylene pigment or perylene bis-azo pigment are preferable used together with the bis-azo pigment. Thus, photosensitive material is excellent in sensitivity and durability.

The present invention provides a process for packing a drum-shaped electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising the steps of folding a wrapping-start edge portion of a light-shielding packing sheet outwardly in a diametrical direction of the photoreceptor across a width of the packing sheet, and wrapping the packing sheet on a circumferential surface of the photoreceptor. The packing process of the present invention enables an electrophotographic photoreceptor, which has a small diameter, or has a soft surface and is susceptible to scratching, to be packed without forming scratches on its surface and decreasing its photosensitivity.

A silicon nitride sintered body having a high strength at high temperatures as well as at room temperature can be provided by the method of the present invention, which includes preparing a raw material consisting of SI.sub.3 N.sub.4 powder, a rare earth element oxide powder, and SiC powder, and at least one of a W compound powder and a Mo compound powder, forming the raw material into a shaped body, and then firing the shaped body in N.sub.2 atmosphere to substantially crystallize the grain boundary phase of the Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 grains. The silicon nitride sintered body includes Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 as a main component, and the remainder of a rare earth element compound, SiC and at least one of a W compound and a Mo compound, the grain boundary phase of Sio.sub.3 N.sub.4 grains consisting substantially of crystal phases. The silicon nitride sintered body is dense and thin in color so that uneven coloring thereof can be decreased.

A sample transfer mechanism of the present invention is characterized broadly by a sample gripping method in which a downward part of a sample vessel is gripped and a cover that achieves an effect as a guide such that gripping arms that grip the sample vessel avoid contact with other objects and bypass surrounding objects, particularly, the sample vessels in approaching and retracting motions. To enhance the effect as the guide and to ensure that the sample vessels can be mounted with a high degree of integration, the shape of the cover and disposition of the sample transfer mechanism are characterized in a number of manners. Thus, a sample transfer mechanism that can perform a transfer process safely with high throughput even under conditions in which a variety of types of sample vessels is mixed together and the sample vessels are mounted with a high degree of integration is provided.
