    Abstract: A technique includes receiving, by a user device, a plurality of semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configurations, each SPS configuration including an SPS identifier and an interval for each of the plurality of SPS configurations; receiving, by the user device, an SPS activation corresponding to each of the plurality of SPS configurations, each SPS activation indicating a set of resources and a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) to be used for transmission of data for the corresponding SPS configuration; determining, by the user device, that a collision will occur for the plurality of SPS configurations during a transmission time interval (TTI); selecting a MCS corresponding to one of the plurality of SPS configurations that have been determined to collide during the TTI; and transmitting, by the user device during the TTI, data using the selected MCS via an aggregated set of SPS resources that includes at least a portion of each of the sets of resources for the plurality of SPS configurations that have been determined to collide during the TTI.

    Abstract: This specification describes a method comprising responding to a detection of a variation in at least one measured characteristic of a reference signal transmitted from an access point to a portable device by triggering participation by the portable device in vehicle-to-portable device communications. In some examples, the triggering of the participation in the vehicle-to-portable device communications in response to the detection of the variation in the at least one measured characteristic of the reference signal may be performed only if it has been determined that a location of the portable device satisfies a predetermined condition.
