Abstract: A charging apparatus for an electric vehicle is disclosed. The charging apparatus includes an AC power input stage receiving at least one AC input power from among single-phase AC power and multi-phase AC power, a power factor corrector having full bridge circuits receiving AC input power, a link capacitor charged through the power factor corrector, a switch network having a first switch connecting any one of an AC power input line and a neutral line of the AC power input stage to the power factor corrector and at least one second switch connecting the AC power input stage to the power factor corrector or the link capacitor, and a controller controlling the power factor corrector and the switch network according to AC input power condition. The second switch includes switches selectively connecting at least one full bridge circuit to a positive(+) electrode of a battery.

Abstract: A charging apparatus for an electric vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes a motor generating power for vehicle driving. An inverter supplies power to the motor. An AC power input stage receives AC input power from among single-phase AC power and multi-phase AC power. A power factor corrector includes full bridge circuits receiving AC input power through the AC power input stage. A link capacitor is charged through a combination of the power factor corrector, the motor, and the inverter. A switch network has a first switch connecting one of an AC power input line and a neutral line of the AC power input stage to the power factor corrector and a second switch selectively connecting the AC power input stage to the power factor corrector or the link capacitor. A controller operates the power factor corrector and the switch network based on the received AC input power condition.

Abstract: A charging apparatus for an electric vehicle is provided. The apparatus charges a vehicle battery upon receiving power from different power sources. The apparatus includes a motor generating power to drive the electric vehicle and an inverter supplying power to the motor. An AC power input terminal receives at least one of single-phase AC power and multi-phase AC power. A power factor corrector having a single three-leg half bridge circuit receives the AC input power through the AC power input terminal. A link capacitor is charged through a combination of the power factor corrector, the motor, and the inverter. A switch network has at least one switch for selectively connecting the AC power input terminal to the power factor corrector, the link capacitor, the motor, or the inverter. A controller operates the power factor corrector, the switch network, and the inverter based on a condition of received AC input power.

Abstract: An active rectifier for a wireless power transfer system includes: a first rectifying circuit; a second rectifying circuit; a first switching circuit and a second switching circuit. Abstract: A motor driving and battery charging apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a motor having a plurality of coils, a rectifier circuit connected to the plurality of coils, and a high voltage battery. An inverter generates a driving current from an output voltage of the high voltage battery and supplies the driving current to the motor while the motor operates. While the high voltage battery is charged, the rectifier circuit rectifies an alternating current (AC) of an external power source, the motor and the inverter compensate for a power factor of the current rectified by the rectifier circuit, and the high voltage battery is charged with an output current of the motor and the inverter.

Abstract: A method for selectively performing a full bridge control and a half bridge control in a WPT system using an LCCL-S resonant network may include: performing the full bridge control by controlling the switches not connected in series of the full bridge inverter to operate simultaneously; calculating a coupling coefficient of the WPT system; determining whether it is possible to switch the full bridge control to the half bridge control based on the calculated coupling coefficient; in response to determining that it is possible to switch the full bridge control to the half bridge control, calculating a load of the WPT system; and performing the half bridge control for the full bridge inverter based on the calculated load.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling an on-board charger (OBC) are provided. The method includes monitoring a voltage of an input power source, increasing or decreasing the voltage of the input power source to a preset output voltage of a power factor corrector (PFC), and operating a converter receiving the preset output voltage to adjust a switching frequency of the converter based on a ripple current of an output terminal of the converter. Additionally, the converter includes a first switch configured to receive a first voltage of a first capacitor mounted within the PFC and a second switch configured to receive a second voltage of a second capacitor mounted within the PFC.
