Abstract: In an example embodiment, a first graphical layer having a plurality of edges is rendered in a graphical user interface, the first graphical layer including a first virtual button rendered at a default location and one or more pieces of information. Then a user input of selecting the first virtual button and moving the first virtual button to a new location other than the default location is detected. In response to the detecting, the new location is compared to each of the plurality of edges to determine a geometrically closest edge to the new location, and a second graphical layer is rendered on top of the first graphical layer, the second graphical layer abutting the geometrically closest edge to the new location.

Abstract: A method and system for providing charting data visualizations of associated data sets is described. The method includes rendering a graphical user interface that includes one or more data interface regions. The one or more data interface regions are configured to detect and analyze a data interface component encoded with and representing data attributes which are mapped and bound to elements of a chart data visualization. Upon detecting the receipt of the graphical data interface component into the one or more data interface regions, the graphical data interface component is analyzed to determine the data attributes and the mapping. Based on the analysis of the data attributes and the data set, a data chart is rendered on a display and dynamically updated based on user interaction with the charting data visualization.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for copying inherited properties between electronic documents. An input to copy a source child element from a source application editing a source document is received. The source child element inherits a value of a property from another element. An input to paste the copied element into a destination document edited by destination application is received. The copied element is pasted into the destination document. The destination application retrieves instructions to determine a destination child value of the property and uses the instructions to determine the destination child value. The destination child value is consistent with the value which would have been determined had the copied element been pasted into the source document.
