摘要: A system and method for formation flying includes a primary asset accompanied by a plurality of secondary assets. The secondary assets fly around the primary asset in a predetermined formation to achieve a desired degree to range and scanning. The secondary assets are not mission critical such that if some or all are lost to attrition, the primary asset may continue the mission or abort with a high probability of survival. The primary asset may include a high value payload, either in terms of equipment expense or mission criticality. Furthermore, the secondary assets may autonomously reposition and reorient according to mission priorities or the loss of one or more of the secondary assets. The primary asset and secondary assets implement algorithms and software functions to allow the primary asset to navigate through airspace without being harmed by any known or yet to be known lethal threats.

摘要: A formation flight assistance system is placed on board a follower aircraft to benefit from an upwards air flow induced by a wake vortex generated by a leader aircraft. The system determines a wake vortex effect experienced by the follower aircraft as being a difference between measurements taken by sensors and modelling in a wake vortex free environment. Using a recursive Bayesian filter, the system determines an estimated position of the wake vortex on the basis of information relating to the leader aircraft and a wake vortex model, and determines an estimation uncertainty, according to which a potential discomfort window is computed for the passengers of the follower aircraft. The system keeps the follower aircraft outside the potential discomfort window. Thus, the comfort of the passengers of the follower aircraft is provided, while benefiting from an upwards air flow induced by the wake vortex.

摘要: This disclosure relates to system and method for cleaning surfaces using drones. The method includes identifying, by a first drone, a cleaning strip in contact with a surface. The cleaning strip connects a second drone and a third drone. The second drone is communicatively coupled with the third drone. The first drone is communicatively coupled with each of the second drone and the third drone. The method further includes releasing a cleaning agent at a preconfigured pressure upon a current target region of the surface near the cleaning strip. The method further includes relocating the cleaning strip upon the current target region. The method further includes performing a set of oscillations through the cleaning strip across the current target region. Each of the set of oscillations includes coordinating a displacement of the cleaning strip by a predefined distance, alternating towards each of ends of the cleaning strip.
