Abstract:
A television and a method thereof are provided. The television includes a display, a first network interface to a packet-based network, and a decoder operable to process a multimedia data stream received via the first network interface, wherein the television is operable to display video content of the multimedia data stream on the display promptly upon receipt of a user request to power up the television. The method includes receiving a multimedia data stream at a network interface of a television, wherein the network interface is coupled to a packet-based network, processing the multimedia data stream at a decoder of the television to generate video content and providing the video content to a display of the television, wherein the television displays video content of the multimedia data stream promptly upon receipt of a request to power up the television.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods of and systems for providing conditional access to electronic content. Electronic content is provided to a user along with authorization information. The electronic content may be transmitted to the user, and the user may use the authorization information to access the electronic content. An authorization code may be provided to the user such that the user may be granted access to the content based on a comparison of the provided authorization code and a second authorization code transmitted with the electronic content, and transmission of the second authorization code may be controlled by a content provider to control access by the user.
Abstract:
Arrangements for using augmented reality in conjunction with a live event are presented. A data stream corresponding to a live event may be received. The data stream may comprise live video, wherein the live video comprises a live object. Input from a user may be received, wherein the input affects behavior of a virtual object. The live event augmented by the virtual object may be presented. The behavior of the live object of the live event may affect the behavior of the virtual object.
Abstract:
There is provided a moving picture processing device (100) that has a display unit (120), a main processor (150), a display control unit (160), and a main memory (180). Using an overall-moving-picture data item stored in the main memory (180), the display control unit (160) and the display unit (120) play the overall moving picture (AM1), whereby a plurality of sectional moving pictures (SM11 to SM14) is displayed. In other words, displaying one moving picture enables a plurality of moving pictures to be displayed. Therefore, by using the moving picture processing device (100), it is possible to simultaneously display more moving pictures than those determined depending on the device's capacity to play moving pictures.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided. The method includes providing a multimedia data stream including a first channel having video content representing a first list of video games and corresponding channel identifiers and a second channel having video game data associated with a first video game of the first list. The second channel is associated with a first channel identifier corresponding to the first video game. The system includes one or more storage devices to store video game data, a list generation module to generate video content representing a first list of video games and corresponding channel identifiers and a multimedia stream generator. The multimedia stream generator generates a multimedia data stream including at least a first channel having data representative of the video content representing the first list of video games and a second channel having video game data associated with a first video game of the first list.
Abstract:
Particular embodiments of the disclosed subject matter provide methods and systems to support interactive games on a television via internet protocol. An example embodiment includes receiving a game selection from a remote user through a set-top box via a network, activating the selected game on a games server, and communicating game rendering information to the set-top box via the network thereby enabling remotely playing the selected game via a television monitor and a remote control device.
Abstract:
Described are methods, systems, and computer program products for synchronizing game content access to the broadcast of particular television content. A game, wherein a portion of the game is locked and inaccessible to a player of the game, is provided via a gaming network comprising one of an Internet network, a cable television network, or an interactive television network. An identifier is provided to a television program for broadcast, which is then viewed by the player. The player inputs the identifier, the identifier is validated, and, if the identifier is valid, the locked portion of the game is unlocked and made accessible to the player.
Abstract:
A system and methods for running interactive applications (e.g., video game, computer game, console game) over broadband network (e.g., IPTV network, broadband mobile network, broadband Internet, cable network, etc.). In an embodiment, interactive applications can be hosted and executed remotely by an interactive application host either natively or using emulation (e.g., virtual machine, emulation of software platform, operating system, or hardware platform). Audio of the interactive application can be rendered by one or multiple audio rendering apparatuses, compressed, transmitted over the broadband network to one or multiple clients (e.g, set-top box, media player, game console, mobile device, personal computer), and presented by the client's audio display device. In additional embodiment, said audio rendering apparatus can render multiple streams of audio for multiple clients concurrently. An audio rendering apparatus can cache the audio data shared by multiple clients or multiple instances of an interactive application to reduce bandwidth consumption. Furthermore, during audio presentation, a client synchronizes audio and video display.
Abstract:
A system includes a multimedia data interface to receive data representative of one or more multimedia channels and a display interface to a display device, the display interface to provide processed multimedia data. The system further includes a security control module to receive alarm sensor data associated with one or more alarm sensors and an alarm premises display module coupled to the security control module and the display interface. The alarm premises display module includes logic to provide a premises diagram for display via the display interface, wherein the premises diagram illustrates a layout of monitored premises and logic to provide a representation of an alarm status of one or more premises locations based on the alarm sensor information.
