Abstract: An integrated peripheral intravenous (IV) catheter configured for blood draw both at the time of catheter placement and during catheter indwell. Abstract: A modular connector assembly for a medical container may include a plurality of covers and a plurality of adapters. Each cover is connectable to a cooperatively dimensioned medical container. Each adapter is attachable in fluid sealing engagement with each cover by an interface assembly including a first interface segment formed on each of said plurality of covers and a second interface segment formed on each of said plurality of adapters. The first and second interface segments and corresponding ones of the covers and adapters are initially separable and subsequently connected to define a fluid sealing engagement between connected ones of the cover and adapter. The structural configuration of each of the plurality of adapters is variable to define a different one of a plurality of medical connector types.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a fluid connector system configured to couple a first fluid line structure, e.g. port, with a second fluid line structure, e.g. catheter. The connector system can include a connector body and one or more locking mechanisms designed to transition between an unlocked position and a locked position. The locking mechanism includes a first lever arm rotatably coupled to the connector body, and a second lever arm rotatably coupled to the first lever arm. The second lever arm can further be rotatably and releasably coupled to the port. Rotating the first lever arm uses mechanical advantage to urge the port to engage a catheter ensuring a tight seal therebetween even under high fluid pressures.

Abstract: Described are drainage catheter hub devices which seal the hub from leakage when connected to a catheter. The catheter hub includes a hub body having an aperture with a sealing element mounted therein and a fluid passageway that communicates with the aperture. The fluid passageway and sealing element are configured to receive a tension member. A lever arm attached to the hub body is operable to secure the position of the tension member in the sealing element in a locked position or allow movement of the tension member through the sealing element in an unlocked position. The lever arm is configured to engage and compress the sealing element to block fluid flow through the sealing element and the aperture when the lever arm is in any position. The hub body may include a centering tab to align the tension member along a longitudinal axis of the hub body.
