Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed to create a breakaway junction for 3D printed parts. Powder is spread along a target zone, such as a build bed. A liquid functional agent is selectively dispensed upon the powder to form a 3D object, a supporting part, and the breakaway junction between them.

Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to material sets, methods and printed articles and container supports. In one example, a material set can include a particulate fusible build material a particulate fusible build material having an average particle size ranging from about 0.01 μm to about 200 μm. The material set can also include a fusing ink including a fusing agent in a first liquid vehicle, wherein the fusing agent fuses the particulate fusible build material when exposed to electromagnetic energy or thermal energy. The material set can also include a binding ink including a binding agent in a second liquid vehicle, wherein the binding agent temporarily binds the particulate fusible build material when exposed to moderate temperatures ranging from ambient to 150° C.

Abstract: An example sinter system includes a sinter gas inlet at a sinter furnace for a sinter gas, a tracer gas inlet at the sinter furnace for a tracer gas different from the sinter gas, and an outlet at the sinter furnace to output the sinter gas and the tracer gas. The example sinter system further includes: a support structure to support a sample green object in the sinter furnace, an opening at the support structure connected to the tracer gas inlet, the opening to output the tracer gas into the sinter furnace, and a detector to: determine an amount of the tracer gas flowing through the outlet during a sinter process as a sample green object positioned on the support structure changes shape during the sinter process with respect to the opening and modifies a flow rate of the tracer gas to the outlet; and determine when to stop the sinter process based on a determined amount of the tracer gas.

Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory on which are stored machine-readable instructions that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to access a stereoscopic three-dimensional (3D) image of a layer including solidified build material particles. The instructions may also cause the processor to identify an optical property of the solidified build material particles at a location on the layer from the stereoscopic 3D image. The instructions may further cause the processor to determine whether the identified optical property exceeds a predefined threshold and based on a determination that the identified optical property exceeds the predefined threshold, output an indication that the layer includes an optical property that exceeds the predefined threshold.

Abstract: In example implementations, a method for extracting layers of build material into a carrier. The method includes providing a layer of build material onto a bed. Portions of the layer of build material on the bed are digitally printed with a liquid functional material (LFM). The method repeats providing the layer of build material and digitally printing without applying energy to the LFM to define a structure in layers of build material on the bed. The layers of build material are extracted into a carrier and the carrier is removed.

The instructions may also cause the processor to, based on a determination that the first surface map includes a dropout, recover information corresponding to the dropout. The instructions may further cause the processor to generate a recovered surface map using the recovered information and store the recovered surface map.
