摘要: An aqueous modified or synthetic acid compositions comprising: an acid; and a first component comprising: an amine and a carboxylic acid group; wherein said first component and said acid are present in a molar ratio ranging from 1:3 to 1:15, more preferably from 1:3 to 1:12.5. Said acid compositions are useful in acidizing or stimulating dolomite formations. Said acid compositions are also useful in creating wormholes in hydrocarbon-containing formations.

摘要: The invention includes methods for stimulating a hydrocarbon-bearing formation by perforating a wellbore and introducing an acidic composition in the wellbore. A preferred embodiment includes inserting an isolation plug in the wellbore at a predetermined location followed by inserting a perforating tool and a breakdown acid into the wellbore. The wellbore is perforated by the tool to create a perforated area. The breakdown acid is allowed to come into contact with the perforated area for a predetermined period of time sufficient to prepare the formation for stimulation. The tool is then removed from the wellbore wherein stimulation of the perforated area is thereby initiated. Also disclosed is a corrosion inhibiting composition for use with the acidic composition.

The composition can also further comprise a metal iodide or iodate; an alcohol or derivative thereof. The composition demonstrates advantageous properties over known synthetic acids at temperatures above 90° C. The composition is useful in various oil and gas industry operations. Preferred embodiments of the composition provide substantial advantages in matrix acidizing by increasing the effectiveness of wormholing as compared to conventional mineral acids such as HCl.

摘要: Method of minimizing pitting corrosion at temperatures above 130° C., wherein said method comprises: providing an acidic fluid comprising an alkylsulfonic acid; providing at least one corrosion inhibitor compound comprising an organic compound comprising at least two aldehyde functional groups; combining said acidic fluid with said at least one corrosion inhibitor compound; exposing said mixed fluid to a metallic surface at a temperature of at least 130° C.; and allowing said mixed fluid sufficient time of exposure to a metal to accomplish a pre-determined function.
