Abstract: In some implementations, a computing system can be configured for presenting privacy preserving personalized workout recommendations. In some implementations, a workout application of system 100 can generate workout recommendations based on workouts previously performed by a user within the workout application and/or external to the workout application. For example, a user can participate in an internal workout presented by the workout application or an external workout performed without the aid of the workout application and detected by one or more sensors of a user device carried by the user during the external workout. The various attributes of the workouts can be stored as historical workout data and used by the workout application to recommend to the user workouts available through the workout application, or corresponding workout service. The workout recommendations can be generated on the user device to preserve the privacy of the user's personal health information.

Abstract: In some implementations, a computing system can provide personal performance feedback relative to a workout community during a workout. For example, while performing a workout, a wearable device worn by a user can provide user activity data describing the user's activity during the workout to a playback device that is presenting the workout. The playback device can obtain community statistics describing the performance of a community of users who have previously completed the workout. The playback device can present information comparing the user's performance during the workout to the community's past performance during the workout.

Abstract: A configuration for a breathing sequence may be defined using a hardware element of a user device. A user interface of the user device may be used to begin the breathing sequence. During the breathing sequence, a fluctuating progress indicator user interface element may fluctuate at a cyclic rate. Such fluctuation may include repeated growing and repeated shrinking of the fluctuating progress indicator user interface element. During the breathing sequence, heart rate data may be collected and used to present heart rate information at a conclusion of the breathing sequence.

The breath ratio is based at least in part on inhale time and exhale time of a breath of the breathing sequence. During the breathing sequence, a fluctuating user interface element may fluctuate at a cyclic rate corresponding to the breath ratio. Such fluctuation may include repeated growing and repeated shrinking of the fluctuating user interface element.
