Abstract:
An electrophotographic developer is provided for realizing high-quality images and superior reproducibility of laser dots in a low coverage region and reduced unevenness of color in halftone solid images. The electrophotographic developer includes a toner and a carrier. The toner has a shape factor of 140 or less and a volume average particle size distribution GSDv of 1.3 or less. The carrier has a coat resin layer on a core material, the coat resin layer containing a conductive powder. The core material has a dynamic electric resistivity of 1 Ω·cm or less under an electric field of 104 V/cm in a form of a magnetic brush. The conductive powder has an electric resistivity of 101 Ω·cm or greater and 106 Ω·cm or less. The carrier has an electric resistivity in a range between 10 and 1×108 Ω·cm. An image forming method is also provided wherein the electrophotographic developer is used for development in a developing stage.

The present invention provides a toner, comprising a binder resin and a colorant, and having a plurality of absorption peaks in a wave number range of 400 to 4,000 cm−1 in an infrared absorption spectrum, wherein among the plurality of absorption peaks, a maximum absorption peak appears at wave number ranging from 500 to 800 cm−1 and, given that the intensity of the maximum absorption peak is P1 and that the intensity of a second greatest absorption peak is P2, P1 and P2 satisfy the following equation (1), a developer comprising this toner, an image forming method using this toner, and an image forming apparatus using this toner. 1.6≦P1/P2≦6.0 Equation (1)
Abstract:
The present invention provides an electrophotographic toner comprising at least a binder resin and a near-infrared light absorbing material containing inorganic material particles, wherein the rate of absorption in the visible region of the electrophotographic toner is 15% or less and the average dispersion diameter of the near-infrared light absorbing material is in a range from 50 nm to 800 nm. The invention also provides an electrophotographic developer comprising the above photographic toner and a carrier. Further, the invention provides an image forming method using the above electrophotographic toner.

The present invention discloses a color toner providing highly gloss image and documents with excellent long term storability; an electrostatic latent image developer; and an image forming method. Disclosed is a color toner comprising a binder resin and colorant, wherein the weight average molecular weight of the binder resin is from 6000 to 45000, the toner's glass transition temperature (Tg) is from 40 to 70° C., the loss tangent tan δ of dynamic viscoelasticity is from 0.1 to 2.5 in the temperature of from the toner's glass transition temperature (Tg) to the temperature at which the loss modulus (G″) is 1×105 Pa, and the toner comprises 3 to 20% by mass of an ester derivative of an alicyclic compound having 1 or more carboxyl groups, and an electrostatic latent image developer and an image forming method, which use the color toner.

A magenta toner for developing electrostatic images provided which contains a binder resin and a colorant, wherein the colorant includes a mixed crystal of two or more colorants and when a solid patch is fixed on art paper complying with the ISO standard by using this toner, a resulting fixed image color satisfies at least one of the following formulae (b*) −7.94(a*)+591.85. The color difference ΔE between the color of the fixed image and the color characterized by L*: 46.6, a*: 75.1 and b*: −4.4 is preferably less than 6. The colorant is preferably a mixed crystal of a quinacridone colorant and a monoazo colorant. Moreover, the invention provides a method for producing the magenta toner, a developer containing the magenta toner, and an image-forming method using the magenta toner.

The present invention discloses a carrier, which comprises a core and a resin coating layer formed thereon containing electroconductive powder, wherein, when the magnetic brush is formed only of the core, the dynamic electrical resistance of the core forming the magnetic brush under an electric field of 104 V/cm is 1 &OHgr;·cm or less and the electrical resistance of the resin coating layer is from 10 to 1×108 &OHgr;·cm, a developer using the carrier, and an image-forming method using the developer. Owing to the present invention, a superior solid image, which is free of brush marks and carrier beads carry over, can be obtained.
Abstract:
A carrier for an electrostatic latent-image developer, comprising a core material having thereon a coating layer comprising a resin and fine electroconductive particles, the resin having a work function of 4.5 eV or lower. An electrostatic latent-image developer comprising the carrier and a toner and an image forming process are also disclosed. The carrier is capable of maintaining a high build-up speed of electrification and a proper electrification level even when a charge control agent is omitted or used in a slight amount or when the addition amount of an additive such as silica and titanium oxide is reduced so as to prevent carrier fouling with a charge control agent or an external additive and to inhibit a decrease in developer life.
