    摘要： A printing process and apparatus are described which employ radiation curable inks and provide high resolution print at high speeds by a two-stage process where the image is formed on an intermediate substrate and then transferred to the print medium. This allows both sides of the printed image to be exposed to radiant energy and also allows the printed image to be exposed to both heat and radiant energy before transfer to the print medium.

    摘要： A liner for a label sheet has a printed image under the release layer and an opaque ink receptive coating on the opposite side thereof with a printed image thereon. Label sheets with this liner further include an overlay having at least one label cut therethrough which is aligned with the release layer of the liner and an adhesive layer which bonds the overlay and liner. The label sheet can be part of a form/label combination where the overlay includes the portion that is not adhered to the liner.

    摘要： Thermal transfer ribbons derived from aqueous-based coating formulations which do not require the application of a separate backcoat to the substrate. Backcoatings are self-generated on the untreated side of the substrate when the untreated side of the substrate contacts a remote portion of the top surface of the thermal transfer layer. The thermal transfer ribbons which self-generate backcoats comprise a flexible substrate and a thermal transfer layer which contains a water-soluble silicone block copolymer with blocks of silicone resin and water-soluble polymer. The water-soluble silicone block copolymer migrates to the top surface of the thermal transfer layer and generates a backcoat on the opposite surface of the substrate when the ribbon is wound such that the untreated surface of the substrate contacts a remote portion of the top surface of the thermal transfer layer. Embodiments which incorporate both a water soluble silicone block copolymer and hydrophobic siloxane liquid or gum in the thermal transfer layer, for migration, are included.
