    摘要: A controller for a gas burner system compensates for the tendency of a flame rod sensor in the burner system to on occasion provide a spike in its signal on first lightoff of a pilot flame, by delaying the signal which causes opening of the burner system's main burner valve until the sensor signal has had a chance to reach to its normal level indicative of the presence of the pilot flame. This time varies from about 5 to 30 seconds.

    摘要: A thin film magnetic data transducer carried on the end of a conductive flyer has its magnetic pole electrically connected to the flyer to prevent electrostatic discharges between the flyer and the pole tip from eroding the pole tip. The winding of the transducer is also electrically connected to the flyer either through a high resistance, through a diode with high forward and reverse voltage drops, or through a fusible link, so as to bleed off static charges on the winding without their arcing through to the magnetic pole and damaging the insulation between the winding and the magnetic pole. These embodiments avoid any degrading of the data readback signal.

    摘要: A wind electric system intended to provide power to a power grid, for use with a wind turbine which has no starting torque. The generator is one which can function as a motor as well. When the wind is too light to permit generation, an overriding clutch mechanically disconnects the generator shaft from the turbine shaft. The clutch has also the capability of locking the generator shaft to the turbine shaft in response to a control signal. When wind speed is great enough to permit generation and the turbine is stopped, a control signal is issued locking the generator shaft to the turbine shaft. Power from the power grid causes the generator to function as a motor and accelerate the turbine to permit it to be rotated by the wind. The clutch is then returned to overriding operation and electrical generation continues until wind speed again becomes too light.
