Abstract: The present disclosure provides signaling for multi-panel user equipment (MPUE) activation and deactivation status. The MPUE may include a plurality of panels. The MPUE may determine a number of active panels. The MPUE may transmit a status message indicating at least the number of active panels to a base station. The base station may schedule a communication with the UE for at least one panel of the number of active panels. The MPUE may receive from the base station, a downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a communication for at least one of the number of active panels. The MPUE may communicate according to the DCI using the at least one panel scheduled by the DCI. In another aspect, the MPUE may indicate a nominal number of active panels and implicitly manage a mapping of panel identifiers to an actual number of active panels.

Abstract: A range extension method and apparatus for highly directional beams are disclosed. In one aspect, a first network node that is suitable for supporting mmWave transmissions to a wireless device such as a UE may extend the range of at least one transmit beam to a UE by selecting a suitable repetition configuration that transmits repetition versions of an original signal. The first network node sends information about the repetition configuration to a second network node which can transmit a portion of the repetition configuration information to the UE using sub-6 GHz transmissions. The UE can configure a receive beam to receive mmWave communications from the first network node by using the portion of the repetition configuration information received from the second network node.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication of at least one first beam and at least one first antenna panel of the UE, to use for one or more first transmissions, and of at least one second beam and at least one second antenna panel of the UE, to use for one or more second transmissions. Accordingly, the UE may communicate the one or more first transmissions, with the base station, using the at least one first beam and the at least one first antenna panel. Additionally, the UE may communicate the one or more second transmissions, with the base station, using the at least one second beam and the at least one second antenna panel. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a base station may transmit first control signaling to a first set of user equipments (UEs) which identifies a first common configuration information element indicating a first slot format pattern for use by the first set of UEs. The base station may also transmit second control signaling to a second set of UEs which identifies a second common configuration information element indicating a second slot format pattern for the second set of UEs. The first information element and the second information element may be the same or different based on full-duplexing or half-duplexing capabilities of the UEs. In some other cases, the base station may identify a grouping configuration for assigning respective UEs to first or second UE groups which are either associated with uplink or downlink communications with the full-duplex base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may indicate to a UE a first set of uplink power control parameters associated with half-duplex communications and a second set of uplink power control parameters associated with full-duplex communications. Alternatively, the base station may indicate the first set of uplink power control parameters and a set of power offsets associated with full-duplex communications. The base station may indicate a first set of resources associated with the first set of uplink power control parameters and a second set of resources associated with the second set of uplink power control parameters or the set of power offsets. In response, the UE may transmit one or more uplink messages over one or more resources of the second set of resources in accordance with the second set of uplink power control parameters or the set of power offsets.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive a first indication of a configured communication for a first set of symbols. The UE may detect a second indication associated with a second set of symbols. The UE may determine that a direction of the configured communication is different from an indicated direction for the second set of symbols, the second set of symbols at least partially overlapping the first set of symbols. The UE may cancel the configured communication or may communicate the configured communication based at least in part on a physical layer priority of the configured communication and based at least in part on the determination that the direction of the configured communication is different from the indicated direction for the second set of symbols.

The method may involve a user equipment (UE) utilizing beam sweeping during a random access procedure to determine an uplink beam for subsequent communication with a base station. The UE may transmit a first message indicating a random access preamble for a random access procedure and a plurality of reference signals using a set of directional beams. The base station may receive the reference signals or information related to the reference signals and transmit a second message indicating a directional beam of the set of directional beams and a set of resources. Upon receiving the second message, the UE may transmit the third message over the set of resources using the indicated directional beam.

In some cases, the position or orientation information of the UE may include information for a current time period, predictive information for one or more future time periods, other information, or any combinations thereof. The UE may transmit a beam monitoring request to a base station for an updated monitoring configuration, such as a subset of a set of configured beams or an identified scan angle to be monitored by the UE.
