Confusion resulting from assigning the same node identifier to multiple nodes is resolved through the use of confusion detection techniques and the use of unique identifiers for the nodes. In some aspects an access point and/or an access terminal may perform operations relating to detecting confusion and/or providing a unique identifier to resolve confusion.
Abstract:
Techniques for femtocell message delivery and network planning are described herein. A mobile device sends a registration request to an access point, such as a femtocell access point. If denied registration, the mobile device may return to service by a macro cell access point. A network entity, such as a femtocell gateway serving the access point, may determine an identification of the mobile device. The network entity may send the identification of mobile device and an identifier of the access point to an application server. The application server may create and send a targeted message to the mobile device based on the identification of mobile device and the identifier of the access point. The application server may determine a user count for the access point and facilitate network planning based on the user count.

Methods and apparatus for communication at a network entity comprise receiving one or more technology layer measurements during a measurement period. The methods and apparatus further comprise determining that a first subset of the one or more technology layer measurements satisfies an adequate user equipment (UE) communication condition. In addition, the methods and apparatus comprise determining that a second subset of the one or more technology layer measurements satisfies at least one measurement threshold value. Moreover, the methods and apparatus comprise identifying a network entity conflict when the first subset of the one or more technology layer measurements satisfies the adequate UE communication condition and the second subset of the one or more technology layer measurements satisfies the at least one measurement threshold value.

An access point is configured based on acquired information. An access point may be configured based on the configuration(s) of at least one other access point. An identifier to be transmitted by an access point may be selected based on the identifier(s) transmitted by at least one other access point. An access point may configure itself with assistance from a configuration server. For example, the access point may send information such as the location of the access point to a configuration server and the configuration server may respond with a list of neighboring access points for that access point. A configuration server may provide configuration information to an access point based on the location of the access point. A configuration server also may direct an access point to a different configuration server.
Abstract:
A method by an access point for wireless communication service includes receiving configuration parameters from a core network entity for operation as a base station using at least one non-white space (non-WS) bandwidth. The method further includes determining whether the received configuration parameters comprise an indication for the access point to use white space (WS) for the service. The method further includes requesting authorization information from a WS database to operate in the WS, in response to the received parameters comprising the indication. An access point comprising a processor, memory and transceiver may be configured to perform the elements of the method, using a computer-readable storage medium or other means.
