Abstract:
Certain embodiments provide methods and apparatus for adjusting timing in an SDMA system. One method for adjusting the timing of packet transmissions in a wireless communications system, that may be performed by an access point, includes receiving ranging signals from a plurality of wireless network nodes, determining timing adjustment information for adjusting starting timing of packet transmissions from the wireless network nodes based on the ranging signals, and communicating the timing adjustment information to the wireless network nodes.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating in a wireless network are provided. In some aspects, an access point may comprise a receiver configured to receive an access request message from a wireless station, the message comprising an indication of a plurality of network connection available to the wireless station including a link to a second access point. The receiver may be further configured to receive connectivity information associated with the link, based on the indication, from the second access point. The access point may further comprise a processor configured to determine whether to grant access to the wireless station based, at least in part, on the indication and the connectivity information, and a transmitter configured to transmit a response to the wireless station based on the determining.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of controlling characteristics of messages in sub-1 GHz networks (e.g., IEEE 802.11ah networks) are disclosed. One or more data structures indicating available modulation and coding schemes (MCSs) may be stored at or accessible to transmitters and receivers. The data structures may be organized based on an MCS index, a frame format, a wireless network bandwidth, and/or the number of spatial streams in use at the wireless network. Information stored in the data structures may be used in generation and processing of messages communicated via the sub-1 GHz network.

Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for narrowband channel selection in a wireless communications network are described herein. In one aspect, a wireless communications device includes a receiver, processor, and transmitter. The receiver is configured to wirelessly receive messages from a first device over a plurality of channels. The processor is configured to estimate a quality of each channel based on one message received from the first device over each channel, select for wireless communication a first channel of the plurality of channels based on the estimated quality of each channel, and prepare a selection message indicating selection of the first channel for wireless communication. The transmitter is configured to transmit the selection message to the first device.
Abstract:
Methods and devices for communicating in a communication system are described herein. One aspect provides a method of communicating over one or more space-time streams. The method includes transmitting a first stream with a bandwidth of 2 MHz or less. The method further includes transmitting, when there are at least two streams, a second stream with a cyclic shift delay relative to the first stream equal to half a period. The method further includes transmitting, when there are at least three streams, a third stream with a cyclic shift delay relative to one of the first and second stream equal to a quarter of the period. The method further includes transmitting, when there are at least four streams, a fourth stream with a cyclic shift delay relative to the other of the first and second stream equal to a quarter of the period.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for early receive chain shutoff using a typified CRC and/or content change indicator signals. In one aspect, a method for low power frame filtering is provided. The method comprises generating a typified checksum based on a transaction identifier and at least a portion of a packet. The method further comprises transmitting, to at least one receiver, the packet comprising the typified checksum.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for the coexistence of 1 MHz and 2 MHz operation modes within a wireless communication system in accordance with IEEE 802.11ah, for example. One example method generally includes scanning a plurality of channel pairs, wherein each of the channel pairs comprises a first channel having a first channel designation and a second channel having a second channel designation; determining, based on the scan, a set of open channels from the plurality of channel pairs in which no other apparatus is operating; selecting a primary channel based on the determination; and transmitting using the selected primary channel. The selection of the primary channel involves channel selection rules disclosed herein.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for generating enhanced sounding packets. Some implementations more specifically relate to sounding packet designs that support enhancements to wireless communication protocols associated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11be amendment, and future generations, of the IEEE 802.11 standard. In some implementations, an enhanced null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame may be configurable to support multiple versions of the IEEE 802.11 standard. For example, the enhanced NDPA frame may be configured in accordance with a legacy or a non-legacy NDPA frame format. In some other implementations, the enhanced NDPA frame may include a subfield carrying information identifying a particular basic service set (BSS) which may be associated with one or more STA information fields. Still further, in some implementations, an Extremely High Throughput (EHT) PPDU may include signaling to indicate whether the EHT PPDU is formatted as a sounding NDP.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An access point (AP) may transmit, to a second AP and during a first portion of a transmission opportunity (TxOP), a request to participate in a multi-user (MU) transmission. The AP may receive, from the second AP and during the first portion of the TxOP, an indication of intent to participate in the MU transmission during the second portion of the TxOP, the indication of intent including a resource request of the second AP for participation in the MU transmission. The AP may transmit, during an initial period of the second portion of the TxOP, a trigger signal to the second AP indicating a set of one or more resources for the second AP during the MU transmission. The AP may participate, in conjunction with the second AP and during the second portion of the TxOP, in the MU transmission.
