Abstract:
A delinking feeder of a minigun includes an access door mounted to a delinking feeder housing and movable between a closed position and an open position. The access door has an enclosed recess for receiving a tongue that is rotationally coupled to the access door and is movable between a retracted position and a deployed position. When the access door is in the open position, the tongue is in the deployed position and a tongue first contact surface can contact and secure a linked cartridge positioned in the delinking feeder. When the access door is in the closed position, the tongue is in the retracted position and a tongue second contact surface can contact and guide a cartridge positioned in the delinking feeder. The enclosed recess is covered so that when the access door is in the closed position, the tongue does not protrude through the access door.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a charge retaining mechanism for retaining a charge inside a chamber of a barrel of a gun, comprising retaining members consisting of a central retaining member and two sets of end retaining members, extending from an elongate coil spring, into the chamber. The coil spring is located in an elongate groove formation cut into the inner surface of the barrel and extending partially around the inner circumference of the barrel. The charge retaining members are movable between a charge passing position and a charge retaining position and are biased in the direction of the charge retaining position by means of the coil spring.
Abstract:
A breech ring (1) in a firearm, which can be closed and opened with a screw mechanism which comprises a screw (4). The breech ring has conical threads (5) which can coact with corresponding threads on the screw. The threads of both the breech ring and the screw have sectors without threads, arranged so that the screw can be inserted into its final longitudinal displacement position and thereafter turned into coaction with the threads of the breech ring for securing of the screw in the breech ring. In the sectors without threads there are arranged counter-holding plate springs (11a, 11b, and 11c) which in coaction with a stripper achieve a counter-holding and centering function for a bag charge (18) or the like, which has been inserted into the firearm by a ramming unit behind a shell or the like, the position of which in the longitudinal direction is thereafter adjusted during the extraction of the ramming unit from the chamber of the firearm. The respective counter-holding springs then have the form of a plate spring fastened in one end which assumes a position unactuated by the screw with the aid of its own spring action, and a position actuated by the screw when it is pressed down into the sector without threads.
Abstract:
An underwater firearm for discharging self-propelled projectiles incorporates a swing arm for simultaneously loading a projectile from a magazine into the firing chamber and cocking the firing pin. Guide means in the firing chamber automatically engages a fracturable flange on loading of the projectile to retain the projectile until discharge of the firearm.
Abstract:
A cartridge feed, positioning and ejection control system for automatic wons having a reciprocable firing chamber.Stepped cam paths on a rotatable cam actuator control sequential operation of a feed stop pawl and an ejection stop pawl synchronized to movement of the firing chamber to produce the feed, etc., functions.
