Abstract:
A removable cover for a lampshade having a support frame of a ferromagnetic material. The cover includes a rectangular-shaped sheet of material having top, bottom, first side, and second side edges cooperating to form an inner surface and an outer surface configured to cover the lampshade, and first, second, third, and fourth pluralities of magnets. The first plurality of magnets is at the inner surface and is spaced-apart along the top edge. The second plurality of magnets is at the inner surface and is spaced-apart along the bottom edge. The third plurality of magnets is at the inner surface and is spaced-apart along the first side edge. The fourth plurality of magnets is at the inner surface and is spaced-apart along the second side edge. The pluralities of magnets are configured to be removably secured to the support frame to removably secure the cover to the lampshade.
Abstract:
An easily assembled furnishing article includes a plurality of elongated ribs having a decorative contour, a support plate and a secondary plate. A notched interface is provided between each of the ribs and each plate so that the ribs may be engaged around the perimeter of the plates to define the outer contours of the furnishing article. The notched interface is sized for a friction fit between the ribs and the plates and for easy manual engagement without the need for tools. In one embodiment the furnishing article is a light fixture in which the support plate defines a center opening for supporting a light socket and the secondary plate defines a center opening to receive a power cord of the socket therethrough. The support plate can define a plurality of interior openings to provide for heat convection away from a light bulb engaged within the socket.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement for generating light effects, particularly for decorative purposes, having a light source (10) and a textile web material (12) that can be illuminated by through light from the light source (10) toward a visible side (16) or by incident light. According to the invention, the textile web material (12) comprises a two-layer weave structure made of warp threads (18) forming a warp thread layer (26) and weft threads (20) forming a weft thread layer (24) contacting the warp thread layer (26) on one side.
Abstract:
A lamp shade cover that fits snugly over a lamp shade or lamp shade liner to provide interchangeable lamp shade decor with a tailored look. In embodiments, a separating closure mechanism attaches sides of the lamp shade cover together to form a lamp shade form that fits snugly over the supporting lamp shade or lamp shade liner. In embodiments, the separating closure mechanism is a separating zipper sewn into either side of the lamp shade cover. Embodiments include an interchangeable lamp shade system that includes a lamp shade liner and one or more lamp shade covers that fit snugly over the lamp shade liner and are removable via the separating closure mechanism of the lamp shade cover.
Abstract:
An exemplary interchangeable lamp shade kit may comprise a lamp base, a spider element and a shade element with at least flat and deployed confirmations. The shade element includes opposing first and second ends with respective securement elements generally formed thereat and adapted to engage one another for releasably retaining the shade element in its cylindrical deployed configuration. A plurality of detent apertures in the shade element are adapted to receive respective detent elements radially distributed about the spider element. An exemplary system and method for displaying lamp shade kits may comprise a display element supportingly presenting a multiplicity of lamp bases, a plurality of spider elements, and an assortment of shade elements. The shade elements may be releasably suspended in their flat configurations in a linear or curved array for convenient review and selection by consumers positioned on a consumer pathway adjacent the display element.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a lamp structure with stacked light transparent boards. The lamp structure includes a lamp base, a light source module, plural transparent boards, and an electrical wire module. The light source module is placed inside the lamp base and is connected to an outside power supply by the electrical wire module, the transparent boards are stacked on the lamp base, and each of the transparent boards has a central hole, the central hole can be of different size for different transparent boards. The central holes of the transparent boards together form the designed light shape of the lamp structure. Lamp designs and productions by using the lamp structure of the present invention is easier and cheaper and full of plenty diversities. The repairing cost is low, since only replacement of the damaged portion of the lamp structure is required, but not throwing away the whole lamp.
Abstract:
Fluorescent lighting fixture modules for indirect lighting of interior spaces, each module including at least one, and preferably a pair of side-by-side parallel linear indirect fluorescent lighting fixture elements suspended at fixed grid pattern locations beneath the ceiling of the open interior space. Each of the linear indirect lighting fixture elements is preferably no greater than approximately six feet in length with a suitable length being somewhat greater than four feet where a four foot lamp is used. Where the fixture elements are provided in pairs, each is suspended below the ceiling at its fixed grid location by a suitable hanger structure with a preferred overall fixture module width of approximately four feet.
Abstract:
A Giclee printed lamp shade and method of making the same which includes a lamp shade having a frame having a top and bottom of the same geometric configuration and dimensions to provide flat sides thereto. A Giclee printed fine art canvas material is permanently adhesively secured to base material which is affixed to the lamp shade frame. The Giclee printing is accomplished by providing a digital image to be printed on the canvas, providing a printer capable of accomplishing the Giclee printing, imparting the digital image to the Giclee printer, Giclee printing the image on the canvas material and securing the canvas bearing the Giclee printed image to the outer surface of the lamp shade.
Abstract:
A system and method of constructing a substantially decorative article without the need for fasteners. In one exemplary embodiment of the invention, the decorative article is a woven basket. One or more retainers are provided to retain the material used to construct the outer surface of the decorative article. Each retainer is provided with a channel for receiving one end of the material used to construct the surface of the decorative article. The channels are able to retain the ends of the material used to construct the surface of the decorative article without the need for fasteners. If the material used to construct the surface of the decorative article is sufficiently rigid, the decorative article will be self-supporting. If the material used to construct the surface of the decorative article is not sufficiently self-supporting, supports may be located between the retainers. The channels may be oriented at an angle, or may be provided with a texture, to assist in retaining the material used to construct the surface of the decorative article.
