    摘要: A cut-to-length steel coil processing line has an un-coiling reel, a temper mill, a stretcher leveler, a shearer, and a stacking apparatus arranged to sequentially process a continuous length of sheet metal. The line may be configured such that the continuous length of the sheet metal is directed from the uncoiling reel through the temper mill to the stacking apparatus without processing through the stretcher leveler when a determined thickness of the continuous length of sheet metal is at or below a selected measurement criteria. In the alternative, the line may be configured such that the continuous length of the sheet metal is directed from the uncoiling reel through the stretcher leveler to the stacking apparatus without processing through the temper mill when the determined thickness of the continuous length of sheet metal is greater than the selected measurement criteria.

    摘要: A blanking line including an uncoiler, a first feeder, a slitter, and a shear. A coil of metal is carried by the uncoiler. The first feeder removes the material from the coil and typically includes a leveler for leveling the metal. The metal is fed from the leveler into a looping pit that is located between the leveler and slitter. The slitter feeds and slits the material a predetermined distance and is driven with servo motors. The looping pit acts as an accumulator allowing the metal to hang so the slitter can move metal intermittently into a shear while the leveler runs at a constant rate. The shear cuts the material to a predetermined length corresponding with the distance that the material is fed by the slitter. A measuring wheel may be included to measure the distance that the material is moved by the slitter.

    摘要: A stretch-forming machine of the type wherein a pair of opposed curving jaws grips opposing ends of a metal sheet to be stretch-formed in a curved configuration. Each of the jaws are formed of an array of adjacent grippers movable relative to each other by respective hydraulic cylinders to define a part of the curve of the jaw. The improvement to the stretch-forming machine which is the subject of this application comprises a closed-loop servo-control means for moving each one of the grippers into a predetermined position relative to each other. Each of the servo-control means comprises a hydraulic cylinder position controller carried by the hydraulic cylinder of the one gripper for controlling hydraulic fluid flow to the hydraulic cylinder responsive to stored data representing the desired predetermined position of one of the grippers. A motor is provided for actuating the position controller in response to the data received by the position controller to move the hydraulic cylinder. Hydraulic cylinder position feedback means is positioned on the hydraulic cylinder for sensing the position of the hydraulic cylinder and communicating a signal representing the position of the hydraulic cylinder to the position controller.

    摘要: A method of continuously straightening metal strip comprises directing the strip over devices which act on the strip to effect its straightening by first causing a stretching and leveling and thereafter stretching and bending. The device for continuously straightening the thin metal strip comprises a plurality of entrance rollers arranged in succession at an entrance portion and a plurality of delivery rollers arranged in succession at a delivery portion with a stretching and bending device arranged between the two portions. The metal strip is guided over the entrance and delivery rollers as the rollers are driven by a drive motor and a common device member driven by the motor. At least two of the entrance rollers and at least two of the delivery rollers are tensioning rollers. A differential is included in the drive of each tensioning roller and it includes an overdriving motor with an adjustable speed.
