Abstract:
The present invention relates to an operation method for executing games on mobile camera enabled terminal devices and to devices capable of executing the method. The method is based on hiding augmented reality messages in pictures by taking an image of an object, providing symbols; linking the symbols to the image, such that the symbols are not visible when displaying the image, and sending the image and the linked invisible symbols via a wireless connection as a first image to a mobile camera terminal device. The invention also provides a second component to re-visualize the hidden message by receiving the first image, taking a second image with a camera of the mobile camera terminal device, displaying the second image, comparing the first and second images to determine a matching measure, and visibly displaying the linked invisible symbols on the display, if the comparison fulfills at least one predetermined condition.
Abstract:
The FaceBack system incorporates an automated mechanism for remotely capturing the reaction of the receiver of a text message. This mechanism is started when the texter incorporates instructions into a text message to take a photo or record a video when the text is read by a receiver. The receiving device scans the incoming text message and takes a photo or records a video of the receiving user when the user reads the text message. Once the video is recorded or the picture is taken, the video or picture is returned to the texter through the SMS system.
Abstract:
A system and method for resuming content playback after content playback in an in-vehicle infotainment system includes a mobile device and the in-vehicle infotainment system in communication with the mobile device. The in-vehicle infotainment system displays content and communicates a content position signal to the mobile device. When the mobile device and the in-vehicle infotainment system disconnect, the mobile device displays a screen display in response to disconnecting. The screen display corresponds to resuming future playback. The mobile device communicates a resume future playback signal indicative of resuming future playback to a set top box. The resume future playback signal comprising a content identifier, the content position identifier and a user identifier. The set top box displays content at the set top box based on the content identifier, the content position identifier and the user identifier.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are described for receiving a fax transmission at a mobile phone. In one embodiment, the mobile phone receives an incoming call and answers the incoming call, upon receiving a command from a user of the mobile phone to answer the incoming call. A program on the mobile phone then detects that the incoming call is a fax transmission, and then places an outgoing call to a fax server. The program on the mobile phone then conferences the incoming call with the outgoing call to the fax server, such that the fax server receives the fax transmission. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
Abstract:
Generally this disclosure describes a video communication system that replaces actual live images of the participating users with animated avatars. A method may include selecting an avatar; initiating communication; detecting a user input; identifying the user input; identifying an animation command based on the user input; generating avatar parameters; and transmitting at least one of the animation command and the avatar parameters.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal having a display unit, a camera configured to capture an image, the captured image being re-focusable and a controller configured to perform refocusing of the captured image by changing a focal depth of the captured image is provided. When a transmission request of the captured image is received by the controller, the controller is configured to transmit the captured image after changing the focal depth of the captured image based on an identified recipient of the captured image.
Abstract:
A portable electronic device with a touch screen display for photo management is disclosed. One aspect of the invention involves a computer-implemented method in which the portable electronic device displays an array of thumbnail images corresponding to a set of photographic images. The device replaces the displayed array of thumbnail images with a user-selected photographic image upon detecting a user contact with a corresponding thumbnail image in the array. The user-selected photographic image is displayed at a larger scale than the corresponding thumbnail image. The portable device displays a different photographic image in replacement of the user-selected photographic image in accordance with a scrolling gesture. The scrolling gesture comprises a substantially horizontal movement of user contact with the touch screen display.
Abstract:
Management of social media information is facilitated. A method can include: executing a batch linking application; and batch linking social network (SN) contacts to contacts stored on or accessible by the communication device, wherein the batch linking comprises obtaining the SN contacts at the communication device, wherein the SN contacts are selected for the batch linking based, at least, on a correspondence to the contacts, and wherein the batch linking is performed by the communication device.
Abstract:
A method of operating a first user terminal, the method comprising: determining a video clip to be communicated to a second user terminal; receiving a user selection from an end-user of the first user terminal, selecting a respective user-selected value for each of a user-controlled one or more of a plurality of controllable items of metadata for controlling playout of the video clip when played out at the second user terminal; and using a video messaging service to send a video message over a network to a second user terminal, the video message communicating the video clip and the respective user-selected values for the one or more user-controlled items of metadata, thereby causing the second user terminal to play out the video clip in accordance with the one or more user-controlled items of metadata.
Abstract:
Computer implemented methods, apparatus and computer program product are described that involve capturing images of a plurality of documents and performing specialized processing on the documents for generalized translation, menu translation, expense reporting, business card and social networking site updating, calendar updating and currency identification. Other specialized applications are also disclosed.
