摘要: A head mounted display includes: a projection part which projects an image corresponding to image information onto a retina of an eye of a user; and an eyeglasses-type frame which supports the projection part. The eyeglasses-type frame includes a resilient bent portion having a Z shape in a plan view on middle portions of left and right temples thereof. The projection part is arranged in front of the resilient bent portion of the eyeglasses-type frame.

摘要: In an embodiment, a hinge for a fluid-filled lens assembly includes a base having a first end configured to connect to a temple arm of the lens assembly and a second end configured to connect to a frame of the lens assembly, wherein the base includes a gap that is shaped to allow for tubing to pass from the first end to the second end of the base. In an embodiment, the first end of the base includes a cammed surface configured to engage a surface of the temple arm. In an embodiment, the first and second ends of the base are configured to flex around a rotation axis of the hinge.

摘要: A frame for eyeglasses, an associated temple, and a method of making the same are provided. The temple includes a receiver, a pliable support member, and a flexible ear piece. The receiver extends from a proximal end of the temple to a second end. The proximal end is configured to rotatably connect to a support section of an eyeglasses frame. The receiver defines a cavity that extends from second end toward the proximal end. The support member has a proximal portion and a distal portion. The proximal portion of the support member is within the cavity. The distal portion of the support member extends out and away from the second end of the receiver. The ear piece extends around the support member and the second end of the receiver. The flexible ear piece and the pliable support member form an integrated ear piece that is shapeable by a wearer.

摘要: Eyeglasses are provided with temples that are constructed of a metal, preferably a memory alloy like beta alumina. The temples exhibit corrugations, or folds, along the the temple, at a point proximal to the pivot pin of the hinge where the temples are secured to the frame. The corrugations may be in any direction, including the longitudinal axis of the temple. The temples, due to the corrugations, are sufficiently flexible to adapt to the shape and width of the wearer's head, but retain their shape, and consequently urge the glasses, once put on, against the head of the wearer. This tends to retain the glasses on the head of the wearer against forces that tend to dislodge those glasses, such as gravity, or inertia when the wearer moves her head. The combination of metal temple and corrugations provide for a comfortable eyeglass which can be worn with confidence.

摘要: Described herein are various embodiments of eyewear provided for advantageous use in sports and work, as well as in casual activity, and, if desired, in conjunction with helmets or other headgear. According to one exemplary embodiment, eyewear can include a frame and respective spaced-apart temple portions coupled to the frame. Each temple portion can include a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a biasing element that is movable along at least the distal portion in a longitudinal direction of the temple portion. Each biasing element can urge the distal portion of the respective temple portion in a lateral direction, which is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, as the biasing element is moved along the distal portion.

摘要: An eyewear assembly having flexible temple elements with counterweights is disclosed. The counterweights and flexible temples can serve several other purposes aside from the disclosed role of supporting eyewear on a wearer's face. Those purposes include ornamental elegance in design and facilitating a natural adjustability around unique personal features for position and comfort. The flexible temple elements provide mechanisms for transmitting electrical, mechanical and photonic power and or signals to the eyewear while the counterweights provide the source for said transmissions from a more convenient location.

摘要: An eyeglass assembly which comprises a lens and a frame member, in which the lens has a lug at one edge. The assembly includes a connector by which the frame member is fastened to the lug. The connector comprises a hoop formed from a shape memory alloy which has (a) been treated so that the hoop shrinks inwardly when it is heated to a temperature at which the alloy transforms from martensite phase to austenite phase, and (b) been exposed to an increase in temperature so that the phase of the alloy changes from the martensite phase to the austenite phase and so that the connector hoop shrinks inwardly to grip the lens lug.

摘要: An eyeglass support temple (14) comprising at least one first rod (13), made out of shape memory alloy or any other highly elastic alloy which is difficult to weld, which at one of its ends carries a hinge (17) for the connection to a frame of a pair of glasses. Another end portion of the first rod (13) is inserted and locked in a bush (15) integral with a second rod (12), made out of ductile material, where at least one portion of such a second rod (12) is shaped so as to match the shape of the human ear. The temple (14) is realised through a process which comprises a step in which an end portion (16) of a first rod (13) is inserted into a bush (15), a subsequent step in which the bush (15) is pressed onto the first rod (13) so as to realise the coupling between the first rod (13) and the second rod (12), and a further step in which a portion of the second rod (12) is shaped, so as match the shape of the human ear.
