摘要: A technical test method for evaluating at least one operating parameter of a device over a sequence of a plurality of operating stages, each stage corresponding to a stable value of at least one operating setpoint of the device. The method including at least sampling values of the at least one operating parameter over time, filtering the sampled values in order to obtain a filtered signal for each operating parameter, calculating the variance of the sampled values for each operating parameter in a sampling window during the operating stage, calculating the absolute value of the time derivative of the filtered signal for each operating parameter, and changing the value of the at least one operating setpoint when, for each operating parameter, the variance of the sampled values and the absolute value of the time derivative of the filtered signal are less than respective predetermined lower thresholds.

摘要: A method of monitoring a component includes providing the component which includes a body having an exterior surface and a plurality of passive strain indicators configured on the exterior surface. The method includes directly measuring the component with at least one three-dimensional data acquisition device. The direct measurement generates a first point cloud and a plurality of second point clouds. The first point cloud corresponds to the exterior surface and includes a plurality of first data points, each data point having an X-axis coordinate, a Y-axis coordinate, and a Z-axis coordinate. Each second point cloud corresponds to one of the plurality of passive strain indicators and includes a plurality of second data points, each data point having an X-axis coordinate, a Y-axis coordinate, and a Z-axis coordinate. A second data point density of each second point cloud is greater than a first data point density of each first point cloud.

摘要: A method and system for operating an inlet door of an auxiliary power unit are provided. A control signal comprising at least one inlet door command is output. In response to the at least one inlet door command, at least one feedback signal is received and compared to the at least one inlet door command. If the at least one received feedback signal matches the at least one expected feedback signal, operation of the auxiliary power unit is allowed. Otherwise, operation of the auxiliary power unit is inhibited.

摘要: An engine testing system comprises a rotary absorber that provides a variable resistance to an engine under test and heats coolant from a cold reservoir. A hot reservoir coupled to rotary absorber stores the heated coolant for later (or concurrent) use. Moreover, an organic Rankine cycle turbine-generator device is coupled to the hot reservoir, which converts heat from heated coolant into electrical power. A conditioning system is coupled to the organic Rankine cycle turbine-generator device that cools the coolant for storage in the cold reservoir. The available captured waste energy may be augmented with waste energy that is also available during engine testing. The additional waste energy may be in the form of exhaust gases, thrust, heat from engine coolant systems, residual engine heat, radiant or convective waste heat, friction etc. Variations of the above system may replace the primary energy re-capture from other than a rotary absorber.

摘要: A system for inspecting spray nozzles includes a nozzle operatively connected to a source of pressurized liquid for issuing a spray from the nozzle. The system also includes a sensor positioned to detect frequencies of resonant modes in the spray. The nozzle and sensor can each be mounted to a spray test booth. A method of inspecting a spray nozzle includes issuing a liquid from a spray nozzle as a spray and using a sensor to detect frequencies of resonant modes in the spray. The sensor can include a diaphragm and detecting frequencies can include impinging at least some of the spray on the diaphragm, and monitoring vibrations of the diaphragm.

An example flow sensor may include a conduit arranged to flow fuel therethrough along a flow axis, the conduit defining a flow area orthogonal to the flow axis. The flow sensor may further include a first transducer arranged to direct a first signal through the conduit proximate the flow area to a second transducer, the second transducer being arranged to direct a second signal through the conduit proximate the flow area to the first transducer, the first transducer being spaced apart from the second transducer by a signal path length, and in a direction parallel to the flow axis by an axial distance. The fuel flow measuring system may further include a processor arranged to calculate a fuel mass flow rate based on first and second signal transit times, known fuel properties and a fuel temperature.

A processor (48) configured to: receive the voltage measurement; derive shaft speed (ω) from the voltage measurement; identify modulation of the voltage amplitude at a frequency which is an integer multiple of the shaft speed; compare voltage amplitude to a threshold; and output a rotor damage signal based on the comparison.
