摘要: A method and device for drying a paper web in a dryer section having a number of successive dryer groups with a single-wire draw, and being situated after a press section of the paper machine. Each dryer group includes contact-drying cylinders arranged in a first row and reversing suction cylinders or equivalent suction rolls arranged in a second row, the rows being horizontal, diagonal or vertical rows. The paper web is dried by contact-drying cylinders from the side of its lower face across the entire length of the dryer section. The paper web is passed as a closed draw from one dryer group to the next group, and the paper web is guided, while it runs on the drying wire at the side of the outside curve, by the reversing suction cylinders having a curve radius selected in a range from about 250 mm to about 1000 mm. The paper web is kept in constant contact with the drying wire as it is placed at the side of the outside curve, against the effect of centrifugal forces by a pressure difference which preferably extends over the entire inner circumference of the reversing suction cylinders. In addition to the above, or as an alternative, the paper web is dried from the side of its upper face on a draw or draws of the paper web that is/are free from the wire and/or a flow of drying air is applied to the upper face of the paper web through the drying wire and/or on the draws of the paper web that are free from the wire.

摘要: An apparatus and method for drying a wet sheet material such as a paper web is presented. The apparatus is provided with a suitable number of dryer cylinders operating in conjunction with a plurality of steam blast ports disposed adjacent to the dryer cylinders. A vertically movable canopy hood and a middle hood having sheet entry/exit opening and a door opening device are provided. The wet sheet material is held between two endless fabric belts, and passed through the dryer cylinders alternatively via suction fabric rolls, fabric rolls and fabric tension rolls. The drying process is carried out in an atmosphere of superheated steam of over 100.degree. C. inside the canopy hood and the middle hood, and the steam generated from the wet sheets is recirculated through an exhaust screen, a super heated steam circulating fan, an adiabatic compressor and a supply duct. Another atmosphere of heated moist air having a dew point of at least 80.degree. C. is also employed. The dried paper product manufactured has high dimensional stability and exhibits superior printing characteristics and substantially increased paper strength, and the process permits highly energy conservation.

摘要: The dryer of this invention employs a vacuum chamber interposed below and between first and second heated dryer rolls. The vacuum chamber has two sides and a top which overlies two grooved reversing rolls. The vacuum chamber controls all flow of air in the gap between and below the dryer rolls. The dryer-fabric-backed paper web passes from the first dryer roll around the reversing rolls and up to the second dryer roll. The dryer fabric seals the vacuum chamber, and air is drawn therefrom. The provision of the grooved rolls permits a greater wrap of the felt around the dryers and the application of vacuum to hold the web against the felt during movement of the web between the dryers and the grooved rolls and between the grooved rolls.

摘要: Dryer section of a paper machine having so-called normal drying groups with a single-wire draw, heated contact drying cylinders arranged in an upper row and leading cylinders or rolls arranged in a lower row. At least one drying module is arranged between and/or inside the normal drying groups and in which the opposite side of the web, in relation to the side of the web placed against the contact-drying cylinders, is placed against the heated cylinder face of a single large drying cylinder or cylinders in the drying module. The web is placed in direct contact against the heated cylinder face of the large drying cylinders. The drying module includes a separate loop of a drying wire which guides the web and presses its opposite side against the heated face of the large cylinders over a sector which is greater than about 180.degree.. The diameter of the large drying cylinder(s) is larger than the diameter of the contact drying cylinders in the normal drying groups.

摘要: An improved air drying process for a paper machine is disclosed whereby air is impinged directly onto a paper web between top and bottom dryers on an open paper draw. This provides additional drying and machine speed increase due to improved controlling of sheet flutter and improved drying via direct air impingement onto the sheet for all paper grades. The structure provides a radial jet reattachment nozzle to blow air onto the sheet while the paper web is not in contact with either cylinder surface and the fabric or felt. The nozzle stabilizes and supports the sheet to prevent sheet flutter and bulging.

摘要: The dry end of a paper machine comprises a first dryer group with top drying cylinders (11 to 14), with a first drying wire (10) and with bottom deflection suction rolls (21 to 23). Adjacent this, there is a second dryer group with bottom drying cylinders (15 to 18), with a second drying screen (20) and with top deflection suction rolls (25 to 27). In this way, both sides of the web (9) to be dried come, in succession, into direct contact with the drying cylinders. At the place where the web (9) changes from the first drying wire to the second drying wire, there is a transfer suction roll (24) which lies within the loop (20) of the second support belt. The web (9) travels there from the last cylinder (14) of the first dryer group over an at least approximately straight travel path to the transfer suction roll (24) and thus onto the second support belt (20).
