Abstract: A device for efficiently irrigating a number of housing assemblies containing soil and plants. The housing assemblies are vertically mounted on a support structure. An irrigation system provides a flow of water to each of the housing assemblies. Each housing assembly includes an interior shell nested within an exterior shell. The irrigation system delivers the flow of water to two different heights of soil within the interior shell. A user may adjust how water is distributed within each housing assembly by manipulating one of several valves controlling the delivery of water from a main artery to each housing assembly. Water may be selectively and adjustably delivered to a plant containing a shallow root system, or to a different variety plant containing an extended or deep root system as needed. Excess water may be drained from the interior shell and held within a cavity for reabsorption by the soil contained therein.

Abstract: A stack planter reservoir retains a volume of water to be pumped through a hydroponic system. The stack planter reservoir includes a reservoir base, a lateral wall, a lid-receiving lip, and a planter-supporting lid. The reservoir base and the later wall define a storage volume for water. The lid-receiving lip is perimetrically connected to the lateral wall to receive the planter-supporting lid. The planter-supporting lid supports a single planter or a plurality of stacking planters. The planter-supporting lid includes a pump outlet to allow fluid transport from the storage volume to the planter or plurality of stacking planters.

The system may further include a method of operation including one or more acts of: obtaining a weather forecast for a future time period; determining whether rain is expected during the future time period; and preventing, terminating, or restricting an irrigation cycle when it is determined that rain is expected during the future time period. The restricting may restrict a flow of liquid during the irrigation cycle or shorten the irrigation interval.

Abstract: A planter in the form of a tower planter having an internal vertical composting capability is provided. The planter has a hollow, vertical, outer cylindrical barrel with a plurality of openings formed about its cylindrical side. A hollow inner cylindrical composting tube having a plurality of perforations formed in its cylindrical wall is provided. The space formed between the inner tube and barrel wall is filled with growing medium. The inner tube is filled with compost material. Abstract: Stacked growing containers. The growing containers are stacked so that they are offset to each other in order to expose their corners to optimum light. Each growing container has a locking mechanism to ensure that the growing containers are locked into their correct offset position. Also each growing container has a drainage hole. A drainage container is positioned below the stack of growing containers and receives the excess water from the stack. Piping may be used to remove and redirect the excess water from the drainage container if required. In a preferred embodiment the growing containers are offset by 45 degrees.

Abstract: A planting container is suitable for forming planting columns by using ones with the same structure three-dimensionally stacked. The planting columns are arranged around a center line parallel to the gravity direction to set up a planting tower. The planting container includes a bottom wall and a side wall. The side wall extends from the peripheral of the bottom wall and both walls define a containing space. The side wall has a planting opening communicating with the containing space. The side wall has a top end and a bottom end. When two containers with the same structure are three-dimensionally stacked by each other, the bottom end of the upper container engages with the top end of the lower container.
