Abstract:
A multi-commander includes a first memory for storing a plurality of remote control signals having different signal formats, a circuit for receiving a remote control signal from another remote commander, a rewritable second memory, a remote control signal transmitting circuit for transmitting a remote control signal derived from the first memory, and a mode switch for selectively switching between the setting mode and the remote control mode. When the mode switch is in the setting mode, the signal format of the remote control signal derived from the other remote commander and received by the remote control signal receiving circuit is identified and the signal format of the remote control signal from the other remote commander is read out of the first memory and is then written in the second memory. When the mode switch is in the remote control mode, the signal format written in the second memory is supplied to the remote control signal transmitting circuit in order to control a selected one of a plurality of electronic devices.
Abstract:
A television receiver incorporating a video cassette recorder and having a display, for example, a picture screen, for showing a main-channel picture within which a sub-channel picture may be superimposed, includes first and second tuners which are independently controllable for each selecting one of a number of broadcast channels, with the video signal broadcast on the channel selected by the first tuner being supplied to the display for forming the main-channel picture while the video signal broadcast on the channel selected by the second tuner is supplied to the display for forming the sub-channel picture in a sub-channel picture display mode of the receiver, and a system controller is programmed so that, when initiating a recording mode of the video cassette recorder, the second tuner is made to select the same broadcast channel as the first tuner.
Abstract:
In an audio and/or video electronic apparatus, such as, a television receiver or a video tape recorder, which, in a remote control mode, is capable of having operations thereof controllable by respective first remote control codes in response to the reception of corresponding signals from a first remote or separate control transmitter intended for use with such apparatus; there is provided, as an integral component of the electronic appartus, a nonvolatile memory in which, in a programming or learning mode, the first remote control codes are written in association with respective second remote control codes for controlling the same operations and which are generated in response to the reception of corresponding signals from a second remote control transmitter intended for use with a different electronic apparatus. After such programming, in the remote control mode of the apparatus, the reception of a control signal from the second remote control transmitter causes read-out from the nonvolatile memory of the first remote control code which is associated with the second remote control code corresponding to the received control signal for controlling the operation of the electronic apparatus in accordance with the read-out first remote control code.
Abstract:
A single, hand held remote control unit produces command signals used to control all operational aspects of a video tape recorder and an associated television receiver, and the video tape recorder and television receiver include switches that upon actuation can provide various interconnections so that all operating modes of the two units are possible. Actuation of the switches is performed by controllers, arranged at the particular units, and which receive the coded command signals from the remote control unit to set the switches in accordance with any of several keys that can be actuated on the remote control unit. In one aspect, depressing a single playback key at the remote control unit will produce coded signals received by the controllers to set the television receiver to an unused channel frequency and cause the video tape recorder to reproduce a prerecorded video tape, with the reproduced signal fed to the television receiver over that unused channel for display.
Abstract:
An oil pump control lever 3 is spring biased toward the fully open or maximum supply position 3b to implement fail-safe engine operation if the control wire 4 for the lever is cut or loosened. The far end of the wire 4 is connected to a handlebar throttle control lever 8 on the opposite side of its pivot point 10 from the connection of a throttle control wire 7, and the torque applied to the throttle control lever by the throttle control wire exceeds that applied by the oil supply control wire.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus wherein a remote control signal received via a filter is decoded and, upon deciding that the control signal is a power cutoff instruction, a controlling microcomputer outputs a filter control signal for actuating the filter to place the apparatus in a reception standby mode while the microcomputer itself is also set in its low power state, hence preventing a malfunction that some noise derived from external light of a fluorescent lamp or the like is recognized erroneously as a remote control signal and that the apparatus is shifted in error from the low power state to its wake-up mode. Consequently, the power consumption can be reduced in the standby mode. The remote control signal consists of a fixed-width pulse and a succeeding control code, and upon detection of the fixed-width pulse, the controlling microcomputer is released from the low power state to wake up and then halts the operation of the filter.

A process for preparing a tofu which comprises heat treating "go", or soy milk separated from it, wherein the heat treating is performed under the following conditions (A) and (B):(A) raising a temperature of the "go" or the soy milk from 60.degree. C. to 90.degree. C. within 150 seconds or less; and then(B) heat treating the "go" or the soy milk at a temperature of 90 to 105.degree. C.; to obtain soy milk derived from the "go", or the soy milk, having the following properties:viscosity of the derived soy milk at 20.degree. C. after the heat treating is within 110 cp or less; andBrix of the derived soy milk after the heat treating is 9 to 15%,and then coagulating the soy milk derived from the "go" or the soy milk separated from it, by adding a coagulant to prepare the tofu.
Abstract:
A thin film thermal printhead is provided which comprises a head substrate having a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge, a glaze layer formed on a surface of the head substrate, a patterned resistor layer formed as a thin film on the glaze layer to provide a strip of heating dots extending along the first longitudinal edge of the head substrate, and a patterned conductor layer formed on the resistor layer for selectively supplying power to the heating dots. The glaze layer extends from the first longitudinal edge toward the second longitudinal edge of the head substrate, and has a normal flat surface portion and a rounded marginal surface portion continuous with the normal flat surface. The rounded marginal surface portion extends along the first longitudinal edge of the head substrate and progressively approaches the head substrate toward the first longitudinal edge. The heating dots strip is located at least partially at the rounded marginal surface portion of the glaze layer.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for producing an ink jet print head which both realizes a higher density and prevents a failure in ink jetting and deterioration in the printing quality. A multiplicity of individual ink passages, each having an narrow width and a large depth, are formed in an array by anisotropic etching a photosensitive glass substrate. A diaphragm is attached to the surface of the glass substrate so as to cover the individual ink passages. A common electrode is provided on the diaphragm, and individual piezoelectric elements are fixed to the common electrode at the portions corresponding to the individual ink passages. Individual electrodes are provided on the respective individual piezoelectric elements. A voltage applied to the common electrode and an individual electrode causes a portion of the diaphragm to corresponding to the individual electrode to be bend and deformed. The ink storing capacity of the corresponding individual ink passage is reduced and some of the ink is forced out.
Abstract:
A TV receiver has a tuner and a controller for controlling a tuning operation of the tuner. The controller includes a calculation unit for effecting a calculation of preferred stations using as parameters tuned channels and the times for which the channels are selected. A tuning frequency arrangement storing unit determines the channels that are frequently watched by a user on the basis of the calculation and stores indications of the channels. The channel indications thus stored are read out in ranked order to perform a tuning operation in response to successive actuation of a preferred-station key.
