    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing a program and method for displaying object names in association with augmented reality content. The program and method provide for receiving, by a messaging application running on a device, a first request to identify plural objects based on an image captured by a camera of the device; identifying, in response to receiving the first request, the plural objects based on the image; for each of the plural objects, determining at least one attribute of the object, and calculating a number of augmented reality content items, from plural augmented reality content items, corresponding to the at least one attribute of the object; selecting, from the plural objects, an object with a largest calculated number of corresponding augmented reality content items; and displaying a name for each of the plural objects based on the selecting.

    Abstract: A system and method for automatically generating captions for images and videos using artificial intelligence is disclosed. The system receives image or video data and analyzes the pixels to detect visual features including objects, people, text, and backgrounds. These detected features are used to generate a prompt summarizing the contents. The prompt is provided to a trained natural language processing model which outputs caption text describing the image/video data. The system can incorporate contextual factors to enhance relevance of the generated captions. The captions are ranked using relevance, diversity, and quality metrics then displayed to the user as an overlay on the media or in a separate interface pane. Users can cycle through different generated captions having varying tones and styles. The techniques combine computer vision, natural language processing, and deep learning to automatically generate context-relevant captions without manual user input.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining that a message received from a second computing device associated with a second user is an interactive message and causing the interactive message to be displayed. In response to a selection to skip engagement with the interactive message, the systems and methods display a message feed with a list of a plurality of users and cause a selectable engagement indicium to be displayed next to a list entry of the second user in the list. The system and methods further determine that a predetermined amount of time has elapsed since the start time of the display of the interactive message without engagement with the interactive message and cause the interactive message to be deleted from the message feed and the selectable engagement indicium removed from next to the list entry of the second user.
