Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes transmitting, to a base station, capability information of the terminal; receiving, from the base station, configuration information related to physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) cell switching according to the capability information; and transmitting, to the base station, a PUCCH on one of a plurality of serving cells for the PUCCH cell switching based on the configuration information. The plurality of serving cells for the PUCCH cell switching are in a same timing advance group (TAG).
