Abstract: A system for performing industrial automation control may include a first device that generates a first set of data formatted according to a first protocol and a second device that generates an automation command. The automation command may control the first device based on the first set of data. The second device may interpret data formatted according to a second protocol. The system may include a broker system coupled between the first device and the second device to transform data communicated between the devices, such as the first set of data, the automation command, or both. For example, the broker system may transmit a set of data generated to communicate the first set of data to the second device formatted according to the second protocol as opposed to being formatting according to the first protocol.

Abstract: Provided herein are methods, systems, and software for automatic generation of reports associated with an industrial automation environment. In one implementation, a method includes accessing a source of data containing information related to operation of an industrial automation system. An industrial controller controls the operation. The method also includes identifying user defined types (UDTs) containing a data property in the source of data; creating asset model tags that point to the UDTs in the industrial controller; creating asset definitions by grouping all asset model tags of a particular UDT; instantiating a separate model for each asset in the industrial automation system based on the corresponding asset definition; and generating a report to display values of the asset model tags of the instantiated models.

Abstract: Techniques to facilitate adaptive optimization and control of flotation cell processing are disclosed herein. In at least one implementation, a computing system receives a plurality of flotation cell process variables associated with a flotation cell process. The flotation cell process variables are fed into a machine learning model associated with the flotation cell process to determine improved settings for the flotation cell process. The improved settings for the flotation cell process are provided to an industrial controller that controls at least one aspect of the flotation cell process to improve the flotation cell process.

Abstract: Provided herein are systems, methods, and software for preserving timestamp data in an industrial automation environment. In one implementation, one or more computer-readable storage media having program instructions stored thereon to preserve timestamp data in an industrial automation environment, wherein the program instructions, when executed by a computing system, direct the computing system to at least receive, at a controller, event data of an event from an electronic device, wherein the event data comprises a status of the event and the timestamp of the event. The program instructions also direct the computing system to determine an identification value based on the event data and load the status of the event, the timestamp of the event, and the identification value to a queue within the controller. The timestamp of the event includes the timestamp transmitted from the electronic device.

The second processing circuitry is also executes the computer-readable instructions to adjust an operation of the industrial automation device based on the second set of operations.

Abstract: A method may include receiving, via a secure deployment management (SDM) system, a notification indicative of a change in configuration data associated with an industrial device from a secure deployment management (SDM) node associated with the industrial device. The notification is received via a secure communication channel established by the SDM system with the SDM node and one or more security protocols. The method also includes retrieving, via the SDM system, the configuration data associated with the industrial device from a data source in response to receiving the notification and sending, via the SDM system, the configuration data to the SDM node via the secure communication channel. The industrial device may receive the configuration data from the SDM node without performing one or more security operations on the configuration data.

Abstract: An industrial automation system is described including multiple devices, a master container node, a container node, and a control system. The devices may connect to an external application programming interface (API) of an external device (e.g., an electric power utility company), receive an API call from the external API indicative of a time window for monitoring electrical power consumption of the devices by the external API, and output one or more information technology (IT) commands in response to receiving the API call. The container node may be coupled to the master container node, wherein the container node may map the IT commands to operation technology (OT) commands. The control system may be coupled to the container node and the plurality of devices. The control system may implement the OT commands on the devices to perform one or more operations.
