Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a polling interval negotiation scheme between a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) and a wireless terminal. A wireless terminal and a UICC are communicating at a first polling interval. The wireless terminal may send a proposed polling interval to the UICC. The wireless terminal determines a response of the UICC to the proposed polling interval, and communicates with the UICC at a second polling interval based on the response of the UICC.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for initializing a SIM card may include sending a request to read a file from the SIM card.
