Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from the appropriate handling of scheduling requests. For example, certain wireless communication systems may benefit from a scheduling request procedure involving multiple scheduling request configurations. A method can include transmitting, by a device, a first scheduling request at a first time. The method can also include setting, by the device, a timer from the first time prohibiting subsequent scheduling requests for a predetermined duration based on the transmission of the first scheduling request. The method can further include Identifying, by the device, a trigger for a new scheduling request subsequent to the first scheduling request. The method can additionally include modifying the timer based on the new scheduling request.

For example, certain wireless communication systems may benefit from packet data convergence protocol windows, for example in the case of split bearers being in use. A method can include transmitting a plurality of protocol data units over a bearer mapped to a plurality of logical channels. The protocol data units can be transmitted in a radio link control unacknowledged mode. The method can also include managing at least one transmission characteristic of the transmitted plurality of protocol data units.

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from an enhanced radio link control status report. A method may include determining a negative acknowledgment sequence number range. The negative acknowledgment sequence number range may include a plurality of consecutive radio link control missing sequence numbers. The method may also include determining at least one of a negative acknowledgment end sequence number when the plurality of consecutive radio link control missing sequence numbers exceeds the negative acknowledgment sequence number range. In addition, the method may include sending a radio link control status report comprising at least one of a negative acknowledgment sequence number, the negative acknowledgment sequence number range, or the negative acknowledgment end sequence number when the plurality of consecutive radio link control missing sequence numbers exceeds the at least one negative acknowledgment sequence number range.

Abstract: In accordance with the example embodiments of the invention there is at least a method and apparatus to perform determining, by a device of a communication network, that at least one PDCP PDU of a PDCP sublayer is duplicated for transmission over at least one logical channel; signaling to an RLC sublayer an indication of the at least one PDCP PDU that is duplicated; and based on the signaling, controlling duplication of the at least one PDCP PDU for transmission over the at least one logical channel. Further, there is at least a method and apparatus to perform receiving, at a device of a communication network, an indication through a received signaling indicating that at least one PDCP PDU of a PDCP sublayer is to be duplicated; determining to duplicate the at least one PDCP PDU; duplicating the at least one PDCP PDU based on the determination; and transmitting the duplicated PDCP PDU over at least one logical channel.
