Abstract:
A method for focusing an object to capture an image thereof is provided. The method includes obtaining the travel time between the point in time that an ultrasonic signal is sent and the point in time at which the reflected signal are received. The method also includes obtaining environment information of the electronic device based on location/position information. The method further includes determining local sound speed according to environment information and determining the distance to an object using the local sound speed and the travel time. In addition, the method can include providing the object distance for focusing the object according to the object distance.

Techniques and implementations related to determination of an optical condition surrounding a portable electronic apparatus and adjustment of display thereby are described. A method may involve sensing a property of an ambient light in at least a first direction and a second direction different from the first direction with respect to the portable electronic apparatus. The method may also involve determining whether any of one or more optical conditions is met based on the sensing. The one or more optical conditions may correspond to one of one or more scenarios surrounding the portable electronic apparatus, respectively. The method may further involve adjusting one or more operational parameters related to the portable electronic apparatus responsive to the determining.
Abstract:
An embodiment of a method for contactlessly controlling an electronic apparatus, performed by a processor of the electronic apparatus. A camera module of the electronic apparatus is turned on to capture a series of images upon detecting that an object is in close proximity to the electronic apparatus. A contactless control procedure is performed while the camera module thereof is in use. The control operation comprises determining a control operation according to the captured images; performing the control operation to an electronic device of the electronic apparatus upon obtaining an instruction based on analyzing the captured images; and turning off the camera module responsive to not obtaining an instruction within a predetermined time period.
