Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for operating an idle mode in a wireless communication system. The method includes receiving a first message requesting entry to an idle mode from a Subscriber Station (SS) through at least one Base Station (BS), selecting in response to reception of the first message whether the MS is to enter an idle mode in which BSs belonging to a paging group broadcast a paging message for the MS or whether the MS is to enter a semi-idle mode in which BSs belonging to a semi-idle paging group, which is a subset of the paging group, broadcast the paging message for the SS, and transmitting Paging announce information instructing the BSs belonging to the semi-idle paging group to broadcast the paging message for the SS, if the semi-idle mode is selected.

Abstract: Provided are two types of schemes capable of reducing power consumption of a User Equipment (UE). The first scheme is to select a set capable of minimizing power consumption of the UE when the UE enters a sleep mode. The second scheme is a handover scheme in which the UE having entered the sleep mode maintains the sleep mode corresponding to a cooperative Base Station (BS) set in a handover of the UE.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system that will be provided to support higher data transfer rate following a 4G communication system such as LTE. The present disclosure relates to a method of performing random access of a terminal, said method comprising: an operation of determining the number of received beams of a base station connected to transmitted beams of the terminal; an operation of determining an area of wireless transfer resource on the basis of the number of the received beams; and an operation of transmitting random access message in the random access resource defined by the beam resource corresponding to the determined number and the wireless transfer resource corresponding to the determined area.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-generation (4G) communication system such as a long term evolution (LTE). A method for transmitting data in a base station (BS) in a communication system is provided. The method includes transmitting data to a plurality of stations (STAs) included in a group on a first sub-frame based on a schedule preset based on a time division duplexing (TDD) scheme; and receiving acknowledgement (ACK) signals from each of the plurality of STAs on a second sub-frame after a first interval from the first sub-frame.

Abstract: The present invention provides a transmission line for a capacitive coil. The transmission line may include: a plurality of first cylindrical conductors; a plurality of second cylindrical conductors arranged alternately with the first cylindrical conductors in a layered structure; and dielectrics arranged between the first cylindrical conductors and the second cylindrical conductors. According to the present invention, a coaxial cable having multi-layered pairs of cylindrical conductors and dielectrics inserted between the cylindrical conductors or a cable having one or more layers of conductors separated by dielectrics is provided to thereby minimize current loss in a transmission line by compensating for line voltage drop due to self-inductance L of the line.
