    Abstract: A first device generates a first capability model instance based on a capability model template, and sends the first capability model instance to a network management device. The capability model template includes one or more metric names. The first capability model instance includes one or more performance parameters that can be subscribed to by the first device, and the one or more performance parameters are parameters corresponding to one or more metric names. The first capability model instance is used by the network management device to select and subscribe to one or more performance parameters from the one or more performance parameters that can be subscribed to by the first device.

    Abstract: A fiber applied to an optical amplifier, where the fiber includes a rare earth-doped core and a cladding. The core includes a gain equalization unit. The core is configured to separately amplify optical signals of all wavelengths in a received multiplexing wave. The gain equalization unit is configured to equalize gains of the optical signals of all the wavelengths, such that gains of optical signals that are of all the wavelengths and that are transmitted from an egress port of the fiber all fall within a preset range, The gain of the optical signal of each wavelength in the optical signals of all the wavelengths is determined based on a ratio of power of an amplified optical signal to power of the unamplified optical signal.

    Abstract: An optical amplifier includes at least two stages of optical amplifier systems, an optical switch, a dynamic gain equalizer (DGE), and a control circuit. An input end of the optical switch is separately coupled to an output end of a first-stage optical amplifier system and an output end of a second-stage optical amplifier system, and an output end of the optical switch is separately coupled to an input end of the second-stage optical amplifier system and an input end of the DGE. The optical switch is configured to set at least two gain modes of the optical amplifier. The control circuit is configured to adjust an attenuation spectrum of the DGE based on the at least two gain modes set by the optical switch. The DGE is configured to perform, based on an adjusted attenuation spectrum, power attenuation processing on signals of different wavelengths in a received optical signal.
