A cell measurement method. According to the method, a terminal device determines that a first cell as a camped cell of the terminal device; and then determines that the terminal device is in a target environment. The terminal device further obtains a signal strength of the first cell and performs a measurement on a second cell when the signal strength of the first cell is less than a first threshold and greater than a second threshold. The second cell determined by the terminal device based on the target environment. The terminal device switches the camped cell of the terminal device from the first cell to the second cell when a measurement result of the second cell meets a handover condition.

The technology of this application relates to a method including, when a user equipment (UE) determines that a preset condition is met, the UE sends a session release request message or a session modification request message to a network device. The session release request message is used to request to release a first PDU session, the session modification request message is used to request to release a first quality of service (QoS) flow, and the first PDU session is one of existing PDU sessions in the UE. The preset condition includes at least one of: a quantity of existing PDU sessions in the UE reaching a first threshold; a quantity of data radio bearers (DRB)s associated with the existing PDU session in the UE reaching a second threshold; and a quantity of quality of service flows associated with the existing PDU session in the UE reaching a third threshold.

The present disclosure relates to a call prompt method. In one example method, a first interface, indicating that the first terminal is in a call with a second terminal, is displayed on a first terminal. If a third terminal initiates a call to the first terminal at this moment, a second interface, indicating the call initiated by the third terminal, is displayed on the first terminal, and a sound is output. The sound includes a call voice and a prompt tone of the initiated call. If the call initiated by the third terminal to the first terminal is rejected, the call voice is output on the first terminal, and the prompt tone stops to be output. Or if the third terminal stops initiating the call, the first interface is displayed on the first terminal, and the call voice between the first terminal and the terminal continues to be output.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications technologies, and disclose a call termination method, an application processor, and a modem. In this solution, the application processor receives a hang-up instruction and sends a first message to the modem according to the hang-up instruction, where the first message is used to trigger the modem to directly terminate a call. The modem may terminate the call in a timely manner according to the first message. Therefore, a time consumed in call termination is reduced and efficiency is improved.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for obtaining radio capability information of a terminal, a core network entity, a base station, and a terminal. When a first terminal changes from a first communication path for the first terminal to directly access a network to a second communication path for the first terminal to access the network by using a second terminal, the first terminal receives a first message that is sent by a base station to obtain radio capability information of the first terminal; and then sends the radio capability information of the first terminal to the base station, where the radio capability information includes information about a manner of connection between the first terminal and the second terminal and identification information of the second terminal.

Embodiments of the present application disclose example cell signal strength prediction methods, cell signal strength reporting methods, and user equipment. An example cell signal strength prediction method includes receiving, by user equipment, a measurement configuration and measuring signal strength of a serving cell. The signal strength of the serving cell within a first preset time period is recorded by the user equipment, and, based on the signal strength of the serving cell within the first preset time period, a determination is made by the user equipment whether the signal strength of the serving cell is falling. In response to a determination that the signal strength of the serving cell is falling, the user equipment predicts signal strength of the serving cell at a second preset time.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a ProSe information transmission method, a terminal, and a communications device, where the method includes: acquiring, by a second terminal, a fourth code word broadcast by a first terminal, where the fourth code word is a code word that is allocated to the first terminal by a first ProSe entity; sending, by the second terminal, a first message to a second ProSe entity when the fourth code word matches a prestored code word, where the first message carries the fourth code word and a first application identity; receiving, by the second terminal, a second message sent by the second ProSe entity, where the second message carries a second identity; and discovering, by the second terminal, a first application user according to the second identity. The present invention is applicable to the communications field.

A network selection method and user equipment, include: falling, by user equipment, from a first LTE cell back to a 2G or 3G network to execute a CS service, where a network type of the first LTE cell is a first type; when the user equipment completes execution of the CS service on the 2G or 3G network, measuring an LTE cell according to LTE network information, to obtain a measurement result of each LTE cell; and selecting, from an LTE cell whose measurement result meets a preset condition, a second LTE cell for accessing an LTE network, where a network type of the second LTE cell is the first type.

A connection management method includes: accessing, by UE, a network using a first base station, where the UE is in an RRC inactive state; accessing, by the UE, a network using a second base station, where the second base station does not support the RRC inactive state; and sending, by the UE, a first request message to a first core network entity using the second base station, so that the first core network entity releases a connection to the first base station based on the first request message.
