    Abstract: An image transmission device of a multifocal display system is described, for transmitting a set of N composite images based on a set of N primary images to an image reception device. N is greater or equal 2, and each of the N primary images has a focus distance associated therewith. The image transmission device includes processing circuitry configured to partition each of the N primary images into image portions and generate the N composite images by placing each image portion of each of the N primary images into one of the N composite images such that each of the N composite images comprises image portions from two or more of the N primary images. A communication interface transmits the N composite images to the image reception device (103).

    Abstract: A driver assistance system detects lane markings in a perspective image of a road in front of a vehicle. The driver assistance system extracts a plurality of features, in particular lane markings, from the perspective image for generating a set of feature coordinates, in particular lane marking coordinates. The system generates a plurality of pairs of feature coordinates, each pair defining a straight line, and estimates a lane curvature on the basis of a subset of the pairs of feature coordinates. For each pair a straight line defined by the pair intersects a predefined target portion of the perspective image, the predefined target portion including a plurality of possible positions of a vanishing point.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a multifocal display device, comprising a display configured to generate an image, and a controller configured to control the display according to a bit sequence provided over a determined time period to generate the image with one or more colors. The bit sequence includes for each color a subsequence of bits of different significance. Neither the first bit nor the last bit of the subsequence for the respective color is the most significant bit of the subsequence.
