Abstract: An optical coherence tomographic (OCT) system includes a sample arm, a reference arm and an OCT probe. The probe irradiates a bodily lumen and a fluid contained within the bodily lumen with light of a sample beam transmitted through a double-clad fiber (DCF). A first detector detects light of a reference beam and light reflected from the bodily lumen and propagated through the core of the DCF to generate OCT interference signals. Light backscattered by the bodily lumen and by the fluid contained in the bodily lumen is propagated through a cladding of the DCF and detected by a second detector to generate an intensity signal. A processor analyzes the intensity signal, and triggers a pullback of the probe and initiates recording of OCT images of the bodily lumen in response to the intensity the backscattered light reaching a predetermined threshold value.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods obtain first imaging data and first timestamps that correspond to the first imaging data; obtain second imaging data and second timestamps that correspond to the second imaging data; demodulate the first imaging data to acquire a first timing signal; demodulate the second imaging data to acquire a second timing signal; and calculate a delay value based on the first timing signal, the second timing signal, the first timestamps, and the second timestamps.

Abstract: One or more devices, systems, methods and storage mediums for optical imaging medical devices, such as, but not limited to, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), single mode OCT, and/or multi-modal OCT apparatuses and systems, and methods and storage mediums for use with same, for viewing, controlling, updating, and emphasizing imaging modalities, for performing angio delay determination to find relative delay difference(s) between angio image(s) and another modality image(s), and/or for performing synchronization technique(s) are provided herein. One or more embodiments provide at least one intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI), method, device, apparatus, system, or storage medium to comprehend information, to improve or maximize accuracy in one or more images and to perform angio delay (or delay time) determination and/or synchronization. In addition to controlling one or more imaging modalities, the GUI may operate for one or more applications, including, but not limited to, angio delay measurement(s), synchronization, co-registration, and imaging.

Abstract: A catheter system includes an electronic console; a catheter having a proximal end attachable to the console and a distal end configured to house therein an optical probe; an optical fiber configured to transmit from the console to the optical probe excitation radiation of a first wavelength, and configured to return to the console an optical response signal having a second wavelength longer than the first wavelength; a detector configured to detect intensity of the optical response signal; and a processor configured to determine, based on the detected intensity of the optical response signal, whether the catheter is properly connected to the console. The optical response signal is generated within the optical fiber itself in response to transmitting the excitation radiation therethrough. The optical response signal is an auto-fluorescence signal and/or Raman scattering signal generated from the optical fiber itself.

Abstract: One or more devices, systems, methods and storage mediums for performing continuously, full range optical coherence tomography (OCT) without losing A-lines are provided. Examples of such applications include imaging, evaluating and diagnosing biological objects, such as, but not limited to, for cardio and/or ophthalmic applications, and being obtained via one or more optical instruments, such as, but not limited to, optical probes (e.g., common path probes), catheters, endoscopes, phase shift units (e.g., galvanometer scanner) and bench top systems. Preferably, the OCT devices, systems methods and storage mediums include or involve a phase shift device including at least a galvanometer scanner. The galvanometer scanner is preferably applied with or to a voltage with a triangle shape, the voltage having continuity or absolute constant frequency to obtain continuous images without losing any A-lines. The method(s) may include background subtraction, image shifting to compensate phase shifts and a DC noise reduction algorism.
