Systems, methods, and apparatus for facilitating the communication of information to a mobile device in a broadcast signal are provided. A tone may be inserted into a broadcast signal, the tone including at least one location identifier for information associated with the tone. The broadcast signal may be output for communication to a tone transmission device that is operable to communicate the tone to a mobile device. Once received by the mobile device, the at least one location identifier may facilitate the receipt, by the mobile device from an information source, of the information associated with the tone.

A system automatically determines authorization of a financial transaction occurring through the presentation of a check card such as a demand deposit account (DDA) card. For a proposed financial transaction of a customer from a merchant having a membership program, the system obtains an indication that the customer is a member of the merchant's membership program. The system determines an indication of risk for the transaction, based at least in part on the indication that the customer is a member of the merchant's membership program. The financial transaction is authorized when the indication of risk is within at least one parameter.

One system may include a memory for storing computer-executable instructions, and an information source processor in communication with the memory, wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to associate a location identifier with user prompting information and transmit the location identifier to a tone transmission device, where the location identifier is embedded in a tone. The processor is further configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to receive the location identifier that was sent from a mobile device that received the tone from the tone transmission device, retrieve, from the memory, user prompting information based on the location identifier, and transmit the user prompting information to the mobile device. The system may further include receiving feedback information from the mobile device and transmit additional content based on the received feedback information.

One device may include a network interface, a display, a microphone, and a processor in communication with the network interface, display, and microphone, where the processor is configured to execute computer executable instructions to receive, by the microphone, a tone, where the tone includes a location identifier. The processor is further configured to execute computer executable instructions to extract the location identifier from the tone, and transmit, via the network interface, a signal that includes at least a portion of the location identifier. Moreover, the processor is further configured to execute computer executable instructions to receive, via the network interface, user prompting information associated with the location identifier, and display at least a portion of the user prompting information on the display.

Systems, methods and apparatus for facilitating transactions using a mobile device are provided by certain embodiments of the invention. Information associated with a proposed transaction may be received at a mobile device from a point of sale device. The mobile device may communicate a request to approve the proposed transaction to a transaction processor. The request may at least a portion of the received information and an identifier associated with the mobile device. The transaction processor may determine whether to approve the proposed transaction and communicate an approval or decline message to the point of sale device.

Systems, methods, and apparatus receiving promotion information by a mobile device are provided by certain embodiments of the invention. According to one embodiment, an information carrying tone may be received at a mobile device from a tone transmission device, wherein the information carrying tone includes at least one location identifier associated with promotion information. A tone processing application of the mobile device may further provide for processing the information carrying tone to extract at least one location identifier, and to transmit, to an information source, an indication responsive to receiving the information carrying tone. Also according to various aspects, following transmission of the indication, promotional information can be received by the mobile device for subsequent processing and utilization, such as an activation confirmation or a redeemable promotion.

In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a system is provided that allows a point of sale device to capture the signature of a check writer at the time a check is presented for ACH processing. In accordance with another embodiment, a test can be made to compare optically read information from the face of a check against a negative database or a risk management database to reduce the risk of bad checks being processed by a merchant.

Following receipt by the mobile device, the location identifier(s) may facilitate the receipt of the information associated with the tone from an information source.
